The seemingly promising teaming of Rock Hudson and Claudia Cardinale, both at their most glamorous back in 1968, goes hopelessly astray in the comedy/crime caper film "A Fine Pair". The movie is the kind of lazy effort that makes one suspect the only motives for the stars' participation were quick, sizable paychecks and the opportunity to enjoy some exotic locations at the studio's expense. (Think "Donovan's Reef" without the fun.) The film opens in New York City and we find Hudson as NYPD Captain Mike Harmon, a conservative, no-nonsense career police officer who runs his precinct with the same strong-arm tactics that General George S. Patton employed to keep his troops in line. Out of nowhere pops Esmeralda Marini (Cardinale), a glamorous and almost annoyingly perky young woman who has arrived unannounced from her native Italy. Turns out she has known Harmon most of her life as...

Borderlands goes current gen with The Handsome Collection, and it's got a whole lot of content to offer...
We've suspected it for a while, and now 2K and Gearbox Software have confirmed that Borderlands is coming to current gen. Borderlands: The Handsome Collection will be full gathering together of Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-sequel (not the first game, sadly), both remastered for current gen, along with all of the Dlc available for the games, which is a massive amount of extra content, including highlights like Captain Scarlett and the Pirate's Booty, and Tiny Tina's Assault On Dragon Keep, just two of over 10 add-ons and challenge packs. This also includes upcoming season pass content for the Pre-Sequel.
Along with all of this comes a new, four-player split screen co-op mode, and the function to transfer your existing last gen save games to the new version.

Though it’s been available in Europe for a little over two months by now, Sony confirmed today that the Ps Vita Slim will launch across North America on May 6th alongside the handheld port of Borderlands 2.
Priced at $199, the limited edition bundle will include the console itself, a digital copy of Borderlands 2 and an 8Gb memory card — not to mention the hardware’s built-in 1Gb of storage. It’s worth keeping in mind, though, that the stand alone version of Gearbox Software’s open-world RPG won’t hit retail stores until May 16th.
In bringing Borderlands 2 to the Vita, the studio has also jammed in six Dlc packs. Specifically, two of the add-ons will be story-centric, thereby introducing players to the Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate’s Boot as well as Mr. Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage mission threads. In addition, users can also expect the Mechromancer and Psycho character class,...

The slimmer, lighter PlayStation Vita model that was released in the U.K. recently will be arriving in North America this Spring, bundled with Borderlands 2 for $199.
The bundle contains the lighter Ps Vita as well as a downloadable copy of Borderlands 2 and an 8Gb memory card. It will also arrive with six pieces of Dlc from the standard version of the game - Captain Scarlett and her Pirate’s Booty; Mr. Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage; the Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 1 (which raises the level cap in the game); the Collector’s Edition Pack; and the Psycho and Mechromancer class packs. Whether these add-ons will be included with retail copies of Borderlands 2 for the Vita is still unclear.
The slimmer Ps Vita is 20% thinner than its older brother and 60 grams lighter, but it also swaps out the Vita’s Oled screen for an LCD one – resulting in a slight...

If you’ve already sold your copy of Borderlands 2, or traded it in, you may be upset by this piece of news. According to Gearbox head honcho Randy Pitchford, the studio isn’t done with Dlc for the ultra-successful game and there will be more add-ons coming your way shortly.
Speaking on the Nerdist Podcast, Pitchford said:
“We are going to do more, we are going to do some other things. I don’t have details exactly of it yet cause were not ready to announce what the other things are…we got more stuff in the hopper that we’re planning and getting pretty excited about. So if you’re a Borderlands 2 fan you don’t have to be afraid that that’s the end of it.”
This is definitely surprising news as I assume most would have expected the Dlc to have finished with the season pass, which...

If you've been holding off to purchase "Borderlands 2" Dlc you may have made the right move. 2K games and Gearbox today announced the arrival of the "Borderlands 2: Add-on Content Pack" which bundles all of the previously released Dlc into a single physical package.
The "Add-on Content Pack" will come with the two previously released add-on campaigns, Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty and Mr. Torgue's Campaign of Carnage, along with the game's fifth playable character, Gaige the Mechromancer. In addition, the retail disc will deliver the Creature Slaughter Dome battle arena (where you can earn Mad Moxxi's rare rocket launcher), the Gearbox Gun Pack and Skyrocket Grenade, additional heads and skins for your characters and a Golden Key to unlock rare loot from the golden chest in Sanctuary.

As with the first "Borderlands", Gearbox continues the tradition of offering a ton of additional content for their popular shoot-n-loot series. With two pretty solid DLCs "Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty" and "Mr. Torgue's Campaign of Carnage" Gearbox hopes to keep that fire burning for ever better drops and crazier enemy encounters. The third add-on certainly checks off each box on the list before locking and loading, but does it hit the mark? Find out with our review for "Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt."
Beginning the new Dlc is as easy as the others. When you boot up your latest save (after downloading the compatability patch, of course) you'll notice a new location on your fast travel kiosk. Just select the new area and simply click Ok and you'll soon be whisked to a whole new land full of adventures to have and baddies to kill.

Chicago – The odds are if you own a “Borderlands 2” Season Pass, or are a member of its “Premiere Club” you’re very likely very pleased at the constant stream of high quality content being delivered to your Xbox 360. First we had “Captain Scarlet and Her Pirate Captain’s Booty” - a sweeping romp through an ocean of sand populated by pirates, sandworms, two entertaining Johnny Depp homages, new weapons, new loot, and a suitably epic final boss and a reward for beating him that was a literal pyramid of high quality treasure. Then we had the roided up “Mr. Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage” with a “Macho Man” Randy Savage-esque gun manufacturer hilariously Mc-ing the proceedings that included a brutal tournament to the death, a mysterious new vault, an entirely new currency (Torgue Tokens), and (yet again) new weapons, and new loot. Couple that with the Mechromancer class (and...

Legendary animation master Gerry Anderson has died at age 83. The creator of such classic TV series as Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlett and Stingray, died in his native England, having battled Alzheimers Disease in recent years. His landmark style of animation, involving puppets as super heroes, never went out of style and crossed over several generations in terms of popularity. He also produced the hit live action TV series Space 1999 and served as executive producer on the cult series UFO in the 1970s. Uncharacteristically, he also produced the 1970s TV spy series The Protectors starring Robert Vaughn. For more on his remarkable life and career click here...

Yesterday Gearbox forum users found some files in the latest Borderlands 2 patch that revealed the next bit of downloadable content for the game will be titled “Sir Hammerlock’s Big Game Hunt“. The developer has yet to officially reveal the Dlc, however, they have confirmed that the information is correct.
Aside from the awesome name, we don’t really know much about Sir Hammerlock’s Big Game Hunt. The only details that we know for sure right now come from the following three PS3 Trophies, which were uncovered by the forum members.
“Face Off” (Bronze trophy) Completed the mission: “The Fall of Nakayama” “Done that” (Gold trophy) Completed all Hammerlocks hunt side missions. “Been there” (Silver trophy) Discovered all named locations in Hammerlocks Hunt.
Sir Hammerlock’s Big Game Hunt will be Borderlands 2‘s third piece of Dlc — the first two being Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate’s Booty (released October 16th) and Mr.

Fancy giving a new home to a furry little Tribble, from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, or having your own set of Vulcan ears? What about a Blake's 7 stardrive or a Sherlock deerstalker hat signed by Benedict Cumberbatch?
Props, costumes and related memorabilia from classic sci-fi movies and TV shows - including Alien, Superman, Star Wars, Doctor Who, Torchwood, Red Dwarf and Captain Scarlett - will go under the hammer at Bonhams' Entertainment Memorabilia sale on Wednesday, December 12.
The highlights include a detailed miniature model of the engine room of the Nostromo mothership from the 1979 film Alien, which is being offered directly by the model-maker.
The model engine room (pictured below with the Tribble and Vulcan ears) was designed for an establishing shot in the film, and is clearly visible in the scene when Ripley sets the ship to self-destruct. Original models used in the production of Alien have rarely...

Chicago – I sat on my porch in balmy 56 degree December weather. It was windy for New England, but having spent years in Chicago it felt mostly like a light breeze. Truth be told, the real windbag was to my right, spouting off about the number of times he’d been to rehab, boasting about his “Shaolin” training that made him a human weapon, verbatim copying Louis C.K’s stand up material as his own, his obsession with Hunter S. Thompson, how his mind works *just like* Sherlock Holmes’, and how he could totally be a journalist if “the bastards” cared about “Dharma”. This is all fine and good - everyone’s allowed to sound like an angsty teenager from time to time - but he had been going on about these things for two hours and this was his second time at my house rambling on about these very things.

Mr. Torgue's Campaign of Carnage was outed weeks ago by leaked PlayStation 3 Trophy information, but his official Twitter account confirms that the new downloadable content is hitting Pandora next week.
Torgue is the CEO of the weapons manufacturer that bears his name, famous for its explosive rounds. He can be seen here throwing up the horns, but I'm guessing he simply blew his middle fingers off in the course of some debauched excess, if the trailer below is any indication of his demeanor.
The new campaign features new quests and weapons, and several Horde-like arena battles.
"The Campaign of Carnage takes that same style of Horde mode," Gearbox writer Anthony Burch told Eurogamer. "But that's only about 50 percent of the Dlc. The other 50 percent is the campaign."
Like Borderlands 2's first batch of Dlc, Captain Scarlett and her Pirate Booty, the Campaign of Carnage seems largely unrelated...

“Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate’s Booty,” in addition to being an excellent title for a late night “Cinemax” title, also happens to be a new piece of pirate-themed downloadable content for “Borderlands 2,” available for a modest tribute on Xbla. Once downloaded, all one needs to do is access a fast travel station and hightail it to newly appearing “Oasis” on the list of travel beacons.
Video Game Rating: 4.0/5.0
Despite arriving with little fanfare (I actually had to Google how to “activate” the Dlc after skipping a seemingly unimportant dialog box), the content throws you in combat with some P.O.-ed pirates right away. They put up a tougher fight than a typical enemy, dodging and rolling more than your run-of-the-mill psycho. Once you eliminate the scallywags, you’re greeted by Shade, the first of two would-be Johnny Depp characters to inhabit the land of Oasis. Shade’s clad in an Hawaiian shirt,...

Those incessant PS3 Trophies have been up to no good again, and this time they’ve managed to out some future Dlc for Borderlands 2. Take a sneaky peek at the image above, which was sent over to Joystiq via a tipster, and seems to point to a new slice of content titled “Mr. Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage.”
There have already been a few rumors flying around regarding Torgue-related Dlc, and this screenshot certainly gives those rumors some grounding. In the world of Borderlands, Torgue is a weapons manufacturer whose guns are usually identified by their black, grey or gunmetal paint schemes and heavy construction.
For those who are completely unaware, Borderlands 2 is the latest video game title from Gearbox, and is probably best described as a hyperkinetic space-western that blends first-person shooting with role-playing elements. It was released to critical acclaim on September 18th.

The sleuthing trophy finders were correct: the name of Gearbox Software’s first Borderlands 2 expansion is, in fact, Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate’s Booty.
On top of the add-on’s name, we now know its release date. You’ll be surprised to hear that it’s only a mere few days from launching on Xbox Live, the PlayStation Network and PC, as it will become available this Tuesday, October 16.
Pricing details have been announced, and Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate’s Booty will retail for the expected amount of $9.99 (800 Microsoft Points), though those who’ve purchased the game’s season pass will be able to download the content file for ‘free.’
If you’re wondering about the new location dubbed Oasis, then you’ll be interested to hear that Randy Pitchford has referenced it as being ”more like Tatooine than an ocean.” Going further, he’s also confirmed that...

Gearbox isn't wasting any time pushing the post-launch Dlc to "Borderlands 2" players. Earlier this week they released the Mechromancer character add-on, a week ahead of schedule, and today they confirmed the rumored pirate-themed campaign add-on will be available next week!
In an interview with Associated Press, Gearbox head honcho Randy Pitchford revealed “Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty” will be available on October 16th. "Borderlands 2's" first Dlc campaign will introduce players to the Oasis, a new desert region of Pandora run by Captain Scarlett and her band of pirates who cruise around on sand skiffs clearly inspired by the ones seen in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.
"You can sense the pirate theme across the landscape, even though there's no water," Randy Pitchford told the AP. "It's all dried up. It feels more like Tatooine than an ocean. These bandits have really embraced the pirate lifestyle, and there's the legend of a treasure.

Thanks to the sleuthing minds at PS3Trophies, we now believe that Gearbox Software’s first Borderlands 2 expansion will be titled Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate’s Booty. Yes, you read that right.
The website’s report states that three new trophies were discovered, after they were added to the game’s list through title update means. They’re of a familiar sort, tasking players with completing a story mission, finishing all of the pack’s side missions and finding all of its related regions around Oasis. Since those types of trophies were implemented into the core game, it’s tough to believe that these are anything less than real.
Going further, it’s worth noting that Gearbox forum users discovered data within the PC version of the game, which helps to prove the validity of this news.

Roy Hodgson’s first major announcement as England Boss is less than 24 hours away when he names his squad for the Euro 2012 Championships at 1pm tomorrow.
When naming a tournament squad you are never going to please everyone – fans, critics and professionals alike – everyone has a favourite player, a hated player, a system they prefer. Below I attempt to second guess our new England Manager with the players I believe he is going to pick.
Goalkeepers
I personally never see the point in taking three goalkeepers. You’d have to have the worst luck ever in a tournament to lose two of them to injury or suspension. I always feel the 3rd goalkeeping spot could be used for an extra attacking midfielder or striker but I can’t imagine such a calculated risk to happen in this squad as Hodgson will go with the three goalkeeper formula.
