The motion picture produced by Howard Christie was professionally directed by Joseph Pevney , though with no originality and some moments result to be a little tiring ; as it has some flaws , gaps and failures . Pevney replaced Douglas Sirk -Hudson's regular filmmaker- who was originally set to direct the film , that's why he fell ill . Joseph Pevney was a good artisan , being well known as a very organized and precise filmmaker who was nonetheless relaxed on the set .
