Due to pressure from Warner Brothers, this cartoon was one of eleven pulled from rotation by the Cartoon Network for its 2001 "June Bugs" marathon, which was to show the complete chronology of Bugs Bunny cartoons. This is in also the "Censored 11". Also All This and Rabbit Stew (1941) and Bushy Hare (1950) with Bugs Bunny, have been withheld from distribution since 1968. Reason given was the short may potentially offend African-Americans.
"Nature Boy" was an Indigenous Australian. The short is now part of the lineup for "Toon In with Me."
As Bugs is chased toward the mother kangaroo by Nature Boy, he shouts "Coming, Mother!" This is a reference to the radio show, "The Aldrich Family."
Was shown on Boomerang (Cartoon Network) on Sunday August 7, 2016 at 7:30am.
The background trees shown include the eucalyptus (gum), which is indigenous to Australia. There's also a shot of a coral tree, another native, with its vivid orange red blooms.
The opening pan of Golden Gate Park shows a glimpse of the Portals of the Past, which is a columned monument that is a memorial to when the rubble of the 1906 earthquake was cleared. It was put up in 1909.
