Sex & Nudity

  • A man accidentally comes upon a woman swimming in a pool from a distance. It is implied that she is nude but only her back is shown as she puts on a dress and confronts the man.
  • The drunken protagonist tries to viciously force himself upon a young woman. He seizes her by the hair and tries to kiss her but she holds him back. He comes to his senses and leaves her alone.
  • Several men are shown shirtless. Several female characters wear low cut dresses.
  • The protagonist and a young woman kiss passionately throughout a scene as she expresses her love for him.

Violence & Gore

  • Two men are forced to fight each other in punishment for trying to start a fight on the ship. Both are heavily bruised and bloodied.
  • The protagonist beats a man in a drunken rage when the man confronts him. This is off screen, but the protagonist's bloodied hands are shown after the beating.
  • A man is whipped in a form of punishment.
  • A boy dives underwater but has his foot caught in a giant clam. The protagonist dives in after and rescues him by pushing a spear down the clam's mouth and wedging it open. The boy is shown drowning beforehand.
  • Two men go swimming but are attacked by an octopus. The octopus injures one man and kills the other. The protagonist is persuaded to fight the octopus by a man who wants him dead. The protagonist dives under and stabs the octopus many times until it dies and ink fills the screen.

Profanity

  • Ralls tells Angileque to get the fuck outta the way when he puches her uncle to his inadverdent death - though all the shouting makes it easy to miss.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • The protagonist gets drunk and suffers ptsd at times.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The protagonist punches an opposing jerk onto an open fire accidentally and the man dies. This is very sudden and surprising.
  • The film has a very dark and foreboding atmosphere to it and the severe background music certainly heightens the serious tone.
  • Suggested MPAA rerating: PG-13: For Thematic and Emotionally Intense Sequences Including Some Violence, and Brief Strong Language.

Violence & Gore

  • The protagonist dives in an underwater shipwreck to retrieve gold bars. However, a beam falls on him and pins him down. The ship then slides off an underwater ledge and brings the protagonist with it. His airline is severed and his mask is shown filling with water as he frantically tries to escape. He drowns to death.
