- Sgt. Jerry Miller: Trouble is, she could be anyplace: in a bar, or another party, or at the bottom of some gully up on Mulholland.
- Officer Jim Reed: [talking about the Hollywood Hills] There's gotta be a thousand ravines up there.
- Sgt. Jerry Miller: Well, if she has been hid, it'll be like looking for a needle in a haystack.
- Officer Pete Malloy: Maybe we can find this needle if we start with the guy that dropped it.
- Sam: [about a customer's broken down car] Frankly, lady, I don't know how you got it this far. Here, let me try it again.
- [Sam, the mechanic, tries the key in the ignition with no luck]
- Sam: [throwing his hands up in frustration] Ye-ah!
- Sally: Now what am I gonna do?
- Sam: Do me a favor, lady. Put it over a cliff.
- Officer Jim Reed: [addressing a young man parked up in the Hollywood Hills probably to make out with his female friend, he stating they not having done anything wrong] Cars have brakes, son. Sometimes they fail. Same thing happens to people.
