George Chesebro Gets A Good Role
boblipton11 June 2023
Charles Starrett and Smiley Burnette ride into a town where Virginia Hunter is having trouble reopening her father's mine. They suspect that an old outlaw famed for his accuracy with a rifle is involved. Is it a coincidence that the man's son, Mark Dennis, is living in town with town drunk George Chesebro his guardian. The outlaws who are looking for the loot he has hidden somewhere gain the idea it isn't.

It's a typically well-written Durango Kid B western, with a nice stunt square in the middle, and the Georgia Peach Pickers backing up Burnette and even singing a song or two on their own. Chesebro, whose career had been bumping along the bottom for a decade shows he can still play a role well.
