Violence & Gore

  • Some battle scenes. No blood. Most of them involve bayonet fights and hand to hand combat.
  • Machine gunners slaughter enemy troops as they retreat from the battlefield.
  • Air raids.
  • Combat training.
  • A woman is shot and wounded.
  • A Japanese sniper reappears throughout the middle of the film. He takes out four American soldiers. After taking out the fourth one he is finally spotted in a palm tree. A soldier throws a grenade in the tree and kills the sniper.
  • Wayne's character ties explosives to the front of a bulldozer drives it right into a large, flamable gasoline tank. Right when he gets real close to it, he stands up to jump out of the bulldozer, but he is killed by a Japanese soldier. The bulldozer crashes into the tank with Wayne still in the driver seat, blowing up both the tank and bulldozer, and possibly creamating Wayne as a huge fire erupts.
