gopher the gold (or the silver)
Contrary to what the title may imply, "Gopher Goofy" does not star the Goofy Gophers (y'know, the excessively polite fops?), who debuted many years later. This cartoon features a pair of Brooklyn-accented members of the genus Citellus invading a man's garden. The man tries and tries to get rid of them, but they're always ten steps ahead of him. How are these animals always ahead of the humans?! I get the feeling that this was one of the cartoons that they made as a place holder in between the really great ones (1942 also saw the release of "Bugs Bunny Gets the Boid" and "My Favorite Duck"). But it's still got some funny scenes, especially the end. Worth seeing. Available on YouTube.
