Sex & Nudity

  • A couple of kisses. A woman stands in a black lingerie (not that revealing). One scene shows a woman being snatched, and the camera moves away. Molestation (or even rape) is implied. The woman then explains what happened to her in front of others, but not to the audience. Throughout this, not a word is uttered as to what happened; all is merely suggestive.
  • Other than the actress in lingerie, which might be considered indecent, but is not too revealing, there is NO sex or nudity in this film.

Violence & Gore

  • At the beginning, dead bodies are ubiquitous in a village and a defenseless, insane man is shot. A man with some blood on his cheek is seen, and a man pierces himself (not shown) to draw blood. An old man is slapped many times and made sport of by soldiers (only a little blood at the end of it all). A man is trampled (not shown in detail). The end depicts two well-armed "armies" fighting one another and shooting-many deaths, but no blood. The whole of the movie is not intense, and is indicative of 1940's typical cinema violence.

Profanity

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • No drugs.
  • Minor smoking and drinking throughout.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Although not disconcerting, the sequence at the end with hundreds falling prey to machine guns and grenades may slightly unnerve very young children.
