Missing gem
handjs24 September 2006
Just as 'It's a wonderful life' became a universal favourite after repeated showings on TV (it was available cheaply to the broadcast companies due to a less than enthusiastic reception when it was made), 'The luckiest girl in the world' is a gem 'waiting' to be discovered. Not available on DVD or video, it is so much funnier than 'My man Godfrey' which was made in the same year and picked up an Oscar, with a great performance turned in by Eugene Palette, who was in both films. If anybody out there has any influence in these things, get Fox (or whoever has the rights) to press a disk, so that it can entertain my children as it did me on that 'luckiest' day back in the sixties when I saw it broadcast in the uk.
