The Sheriff and his brother
bkoganbing7 March 2012
Tex Ritter and sidekick Syd Saylor are Headin' For The Rio Grande as the title says. But on the way they stop to help Tex's sheriff brother Forrest Taylor put an end to an outlaw gang who has added a protection twist to their normal cattle rustling.

These outlaws are a really brazen bunch, they ask a cattle owner for protection money and if they refuse, the outlaws steal the herd. And on occasion steal the herd anyway. No great amount of suspense here, we know who the ringleader is, the idea is just to catch him and the gang in the act.

Some nice if forgettable cowboy ballads are given to Tex Ritter to sing and the kids of the Saturday matinée crowd got plenty of gunplay to satisfy them. This is an entertaining if not classic western.
