Handsome Charles Farrell with British accent
overseer-324 February 2004
This is a charming film made by Republic Studios (it was their first production) and stars Charles Farrell ("Seventh Heaven") and Charlotte Henry (Bo Peep in Laurel and Hardy's "March of the Wooden Soldiers" and Alice in Alice In Wonderland).

The characters are all British, except for Charlotte's character, who is American, and they all hide out in Hyde Park in London during the Depression because they are homeless.

Charlotte's character tries to drown herself and is saved by Charlie's character, who has a slight Cockney accent in this one. It also stars the grandmotherly Beryl Mercer ("The Little Minister", "All Quiet On The Western Front") who does a marvelous job mothering everyone in this film.

These strangers become fond of each other as they hide out in the park together, and make positive changes in their lives, finding employment and faith and love along the way. Very sweet and touching, the kind of film they simply do not make anymore, unfortunately.
