The FOR THE MOVIE FANS column on page 2 of the Santa Cruz Evening News, Santa Cruz, California on Tuesday 14 May 1918 (Volume XXII, Number 12) lists the following item, probably from a United Press dispatch, "William Farnum and his company soon will leave for the Grand canyon of Arizona to produce two movies." These will be "Riders of the Purple Sage" and "The Rainbow Trail'", in which of both Farnum portrays Lassiter, Texas Ranger.
