Baby Marie Osborne Shines Again
PamelaShort29 August 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Gilbert Jackson ( Daniel Gilfether) is greatly disappointed when his son marries a waitress and severs all relations with the young couple. Five years later the son goes out West for a few months to earn some more money, while his wife and their little daughter, Mary, ( Baby Marie Osborne ) move into a cottage next door to Gilbert and Amelia (Mollie McConnell) The couple are unaware that Mary is their grandchild and her mother is their daughter-in-law. They immediately fall in love with the enchanting little Mary and the experience sets Gilbert to wondering about his own son. He hires a detective to find him, then wires his son to come back to his family, and the real identities of Little Mary and her mother are revealed. A reconciliation takes place and the whole family is happily reunited.

This was early silent film child actress, Baby Marie Osborne's fifth film following her hit film, Little Mary Sunshine. Shadows and Sunshine was produced in 1916 by the Balboa Amusement Producing Company and filmed in Long Beach, California. Sadly it remains on the long list of lost silent films.
