- Effie Marchand refuses to marry a man she has never met, but who has been picked out by her mother, is exiled to boarding school Then, when sculpting teacher Jules Gerard asks her to pose for him, an always impulsive Effie quickly consents. During one of the modeling sessions, however, Jules tries to seduce her, and Effie is saved only when Al Tournay, a visitor to the studio, fights off the sculptor. Later, when Jules' latest nude statue looks just like Effie, who really only posed for the head, an outraged principal expels her. Effie then begins a romance with Al, and when they get married, Effie's mother takes the wedding as just one more sign of her daughter's impulsiveness. Mrs. Marchand soon finds out, however, that her new son-in-law is the man she had chosen for Effie long before, and so mother and daughter are quickly reconciled.—Pamela Short
- Effie Marchand is so full of fun that she keeps Auntie Marchand sitting up nights worrying about her pranks. When the girl finally refuses to notice the photograph of the man her aunt has selected for her, Effie's, husband, the old lady decided Effie must go to Madame Briand's boarding school. Such procedure does not dampen Effie's ardor in the least. When the art instructor, Jules Gerard, asks that Effie come to his home and pose for him, she never though of hesitating. It meant another lark. The only objection comes from May Mupree, who had posed for the figure, and who does not wish Jules to take another model. Neither Madame Erland nor the other girls know of Effie's latest prank. One day, in visiting Jules, Effie meets Al, his friend. It is a case of love at first sight; that is all. May continues to get incensed about Effie's visits to Jules' studios. In a final outburst of exasperation, she tells Madame Briand that the other girl has been posing for the figure at the artist's home. Jules, jealous of Al, says that May is telling the truth. Effle is expelled. As she leaves the building, she sees Al again, and he calls her by the endearing term of " Moonsprite," the name which first won her heart. The result is inevitable. Aunt Marchand receives a telegram saying that Effie had married the finest man in the world. She is wrathful until she meets Al. Then comes forgiveness.—Moving Picture World synopsis
