- A Major and General call on the President's daughter and make love to her. The officers fight over the girl's favor and decide to have it out in a duel. They each hire Pedro, who has escaped a wife, to throw pepper in the opponent's eyes to spoil the other's aim. Pedro does the same to both, and when they discover they have been unconsciously duped they take a few shots at Pedro to soothe their feelings. They then decide to revolt in order to get the girl. They secure their army, consisting of two men, and secretly hold drill. This drill is discovered by two soldiers of the President's army and they hurry to tell the President of the revolution. The soldiers desert and Pedro volunteers. The President is so tickled he promises Pedro the girl and future presidency. The battle takes place, but Pedro runs away. His wife, on her way to deliver washing, discovers him. Pedro retreats and the wife hurls a stick of dynamite after him. He ducks, but it lands in the midst of the revolutionist army and subdues it. The President forgives the revolutionists and all go to a garden fete in honor of Pedro, the hero. The wife, having been looking for him, sees him enjoying a fandango, and she routs the whole of both armies and leads Pedro to the washing.—Moving Picture World synopsis
