I took a look at a Pathe-baby cutdown of this. That means that the two reels of the original were reduced to half that length, with some portrait shots of the principles, people riding around the corner of some fortifications, and the six hostages being spared by the importunities of the Queen.
The actual siege was a key bit of warfare in the early phases of the Hundred Years War, since it gave the English monarchy a friendly port on the French coast for two centuries. At one reel, it's pure costuming and posing.
