D.W. Griffith and the Moving Camera
Single-Black-Male19 November 2003
I think Robert Burks (Vertigo) has the 33 year old Griffith to thank for the use of the moving camera. It is in this film that Griffith begins to exploit movement of the two-dimensional medium that is cinema with the three-dimensional matter that is space.
