- Film star, Vince Chase, navigates the vapid terrain of Los Angeles with a close circle of friends and his trusty agent.
- Ronny Bowers, a saxophonist in Benny Goodman's band, has won a talent contest and a ten week contract with a film studio. On his first evening he is supposed to go with the studio's star Mona Marshall to a movie premiere. But she doesn't want to go, so the bosses decide to use a double for her: Virginia. When Mona finds out next morning that happened, she insisted to fire her double and Ronny. Ronny finds work as a singing waiter in a drive-in, and is spotted by a director of the same studio, who wants him to lend his voice for a leading actor in a musical. After the first screening Louella Parsons invites him to sing on her program, "Hollywood Hotel". He accepts, not knowing that Ronny Bowers does not want to lend him his voice again. So everybody starts to play his little game to solve his own problems.

- On the Streets is Where You Should Be People will do anything for a moment of Fame "On the Streets" is an urban reality talk show taped live on the streets of Hollywood Blvd, better known as the Hollywood Walk of Fame, in Hollywood California. The show guest stars regular everyday people answering off-the-wall questions, or being asked to do crazy things. Host, Carlton Enoch, consciously pushes the interviewee to explore thoughts and feelings by asking surprising questions, catching them totally off-guard. The flow of each episode is upbeat, humorous, and entertaining as he gets candid responses to some of the strangest questions.
- Friday and Gannon are at a community college to recruit potential new police officers. With race relations a little tense in late '60s Los Angeles, a majority of the men in the room are African-American. A few of them are dubious about joining the police service. But a few are open to the idea. Later, Officer Dave Roberts, also African-American, is rethinking returning to duty after being badly wounded during a robbery. Relations with his neighbors have soured and he thinks it's affecting him on the job. Friday and Gannon try to talk him out of resigning. Roberts left things up in the air. A few days later, Friday and Gannon are downtown when a call regarding a business disturbance comes over the radio. They are a few blocks away and decide to lend assistance. As it turns out Officer Roberts has responded to the call and is sorting things out on his own as Friday and Gannon observe. After everything is resolved, Roberts notices the two detectives watching from the doorway. Friday gives Roberts a knowing nod. Roberts nods back. They not only convince Roberts to stay on the job, but to help them with the recruiting as well.
