Leslie wants Jock to settle down on his Maryland farm to raise and sell race horses, but he has too much gypsy in his blood and wants to follow the race track circuit. They separate and he gives Leslie the horse that brought them together, and he hits the road. Leslie and old-time trainer "Doc" Kilborne then proceed to win race after race with the horse. Jock, contrite and converted, returns to his old homestead and begins training another horse. Will his horse beat her horse?

Because Frank has nearly all of his family's money riding on the big Kentucky race, Holten gets Frank's jockey drunk. Madge, discovering this, disguises herself and rides Queen Bess to victory. She leaves for home unnoticed, and comes across the Night Riders chasing Lorey. After she persuades them that Holten killed her father years earlier, and was responsible for Lorey's attack, they chase Holten who falls from a mountain and dies. Years later, Madge's and Frank's children play at feuding.

- Jerry, a young song writer, falls in love with Lee Coleman, a wealthy Southern girl. She is being forced into marriage with a fortune hunter who upon learning of her infatuation pays a former vaudeville partner of Jerry's to frame him. Stunned by what she believes to be the truth, Lee goes back to Kentucky and there she makes a wager with her would-be fiance that if her horse does not win the Derby she will marry him. She loses her wager and on the eve of her wedding she slips away to attend a concert where Jerry directs his own symphony. At the close of the concert the girl who had caused the trouble confesses and so Lee and Jerry are happy.
