He has worked with and been responsible for films of such directors as David Lean, Robert Altman, Herb Ross, Blake Edwards, Paul Mazursky, Roger Vadim, Michelangelo Antonioni, Burt Kennedy, James Goldstone, Richard Longcraine and many others.
Herb is the sole authority on the original Star Trek, Mission:Impossible, Mannix, Medical Center, Courtship of Eddie's Father, Then Came Bronson and Man From Atlantis television series as well as the author of Inside Star Trek: the Real Story (Simon & Schuster, 1996,) considered the best, most definitive and interesting of the hordes of Star Trek books as well as The Star Trek Sketchbook, (Simon & Schuster, 1997.)
