- The beautiful Margie Stewart was the first and only Official Army Poster girl during WWII and many millions of pin up photos were distributed to soldiers across the globe. In fact, Eleanor Roosevelt actually tried, but failed to get the posters stopped, and many a soldier was pleased that she did fail. Margie would model in Chicago and Los Angeles before landing a contract with RKO. Margie made 20 films in a very short period of time, but her experiences in Europe towards the end of the war led her to relinquishing her film career. After the war, Margie would marry Jerry Johnson and spend her life involved in the music industry and Jerry and Margie produced many great shows at the famous Hollywood Bowl including The Beatles, Barbara Streisand and The Beach Boys.
Today Margie has three grandchildren and stills works out in her pool every day at the age of 90. She also has a pet tortoise named "Caesar" and he has been Margie's companion now for more than fifty-four years. Margie says, "Caesar is the king of the house. Everyone who knows him brings him Hibiscus blossoms, his favourite food. He is absolutely spoilt rotten!" - David Nunn was born in 1962.
