Poll: Oscar-Nominated Women (Behind Great Men)
Far from being approving puppets, the following women knew how to show support, help, love and disapproval when it was called for and to a certain degree became the only persons with enough guts to call their men out on their mistakes or misbehaviors.
Not all these love stories ended well and some of the men 'in the front' didn't exactly achieve greatness but if we reduce that notion to success, the idiom still applies.
Which of these Oscar-nominated performances as real-life women who shared their lives with famous personalities is your favorite?
