Clooney To Flood Gawker with Bogus Sightings

Oscar-winner George Clooney has called on stars to bombard New York City website Gawker.com with bogus celebrity sightings in a concerted effort to render it useless. The controversial internet site posts instant sightings of celebrities and their exact whereabouts, allowing fans to gather to see them in the flesh - but it is feared stalkers will also tap into the new resource. According to PageSix.com, an email distributed by the Syriana actor's publicist reads: "There is a simple way to render these guys useless. Flood their website with bogus sightings. Get your clients to get 10 friends to text in fake sightings of any number of stars. A couple hundred conflicting sightings and this website is worthless. No need to try to create new laws to restrict free speech. Just make them useless. That's the fun of it. And then sit back and enjoy the ride. Thanks, George."

LeBlanc Files for Divorce

Former Friends star Matt LeBlanc filed for divorce from his wife of just under three years, model Melissa McKnight. The actor filed divorce papers Thursday in Los Angeles, citing "irreconcilable differences." LeBlanc is also the stepfather to his wife's two older children from an earlier marriage, Tyler, 13 and Jacquelyn, 10. According to court papers, the couple split on January 1, around the time LeBlanc's sitcom Joey was put "on hiatus." A statement was issued on behalf of the couple said, "Melissa and Matt LeBlanc have decided to end their marriage of three years. The dissolution is amicable. They remain devoted parents and friends. For the sake of their family, they ask that their privacy be respected at this time." The pair were married in a romantic beachfront ceremony in Hawaii in May 2003. LeBlanc publicly apologized to his wife and baby daughter last year, after drunkenly groping a stripper during a private lap dance. The star admitted he got "carried away" when he visited a strip club during a 10-day motorbike trip in Canada saying, "I acted like a fool in allowing myself to be led astray and placed in such a horrible situation. I feel ashamed."

Director Quits 'Dallas' Movie

A source tells US magazine People that the director was unhappy with some of the studio's choices for the roles and decided to walk away from the film. Campbell Arrested for Assault

Supermodel Naomi Campbell has been arrested in New York City for allegedly assaulting her assistant. The incident occurred at 8:00am on Thursday where the alleged victim, a 41-year-old woman, was struck in the head with an object, allegedly thrown by Campbell. The woman had a laceration on the back of her head and was taken to nearby Lenox Hill Hospital for stitches. Campbell was arrested at her home and taken to the Midtown North Precinct in New York, according to entertainment website TMZ.com. A representative for Campbell released a statement saying, "We believe this is a case of retaliation, because Naomi had fired her housekeeper earlier this morning. We are confident the courts will see it the same way." In 2000, the model pled guilty to hitting a former personal assistant Georgina Galanis with a telephone and was ordered to take anger management classes. In 2001, another former personal assistant, Simone Craig, claimed Campbell threw a mobile phone at her. The British beauty denied that claim and no charges were filed.

Pregnant Paltrow Stuns Diners by Eating Sushi and Downing Beer

Oscar-winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow stunned diners on Tuesday night when she ordered what looked like raw fish and then downed a beer. The star was dining with husband Chris Martin at the New York City sushi bar Cube 63 where Paltrow ordered a salad and what appeared to be sushi, which is thought to be potentially harmful during pregnancy. Martin left the restaurant to pick up several bottles of Irish stout Guinness at a nearby deli and when he returned, diners were surprised when Paltrow, who is five months pregnant with the couple second child, drank one herself. According to a witness, "People were looking and waving, and she just tried to melt further into the corner." Some health experts recommend a little Guinness for expectant mothers because of the drink's high iron content. A representative for the actress confirmed she drank the alcoholic beverage, but said she ate only cooked food, not sushi.

Simpson Linked with Comedic Co-Star

Jessica Simpson is reportedly becoming more than just good friends with her latest co-star, comedian Dane Cook, after the two were spotted holding hands and cuddling. The couple went to see Denzel Washington's latest movie, Inside Man, on Sunday night, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where they are on location shooting Employee Of The Month. An eyewitness tells American publication Us Weekly, "They were sitting really close to each other and at one point she laid her head on his shoulder." The couple were also spotted getting cozy the week before at an Albuquerque night club celebrating the comedian's 34th birthday on March 18. A club employee says, "They were sitting next to each other all night and were in their own world. They were holding hands and laughing and hugging. At one point they snuggled up really close." Cook lives with girlfriend, Valli Girls lead singer Raquel Houghton, in Los Angeles. Houghton has dismissed the claims her boyfriend is cheating with Simpson, saying the rumors are "obviously all lies." A source close to Simpson says, "Dane's more like a goofy brother to her. She has never talked about him romantically."

Abdul's 'Idol' Place Secure

Singer Paula Abdul is breathing a sigh of relief after her American Idol contract was renewed for another three years. The TV talent contest judge reportedly came close to being fired from the show earlier this month, when bosses at Fox complained about her erratic behavior and poor punctuality. She was subsequently treated for exhaustion, but now insists she's thrilled at the chance to nag acid-tongued colleague Simon Cowell for the foreseeable future. Abdul says, "(The contestants) truly inspire and amaze me each week. Of course, I also look forward to putting Simon in his place for years to come." Cowell and Fox reached a deal last November that will keep the British music mogul on the show for at least five more seasons.

'Commander in Chief' Set for Comeback

The Geena Davis drama Commander In Chief is coming back to screens sooner than expected. The White House show was pulled off the air by US network ABC in January after scoring low ratings. Swank and Lowe Not Reconciling

The pair, she a two-time Oscar winner and he an Emmy Award winner, called it quits in January after eight years of marriage, but were hopeful they could work things out during a trial separation. A source tells American publication Us Weekly that spending too much time apart was to blame for the eventual demise of the relationship, adding, "They are not getting back together. There seemed to be competition between them."

Ford: "I Hate the Internet"

Harrison Ford hates the internet, because it means anyone can spread malicious gossip about him. The actor, who plays a computer-security specialist in his latest film Firewall, sees a need to censor his words to avoid being misrepresented online. He says, "The worst thing about the internet is that anything and everything is up for grabs. How can that be, when I limit my public conversations to about once every couple of years? Any kind of rubbish goes on the internet and it can have a f**king life of its own."
