Britney Fights Drug Allegations

Pop princess Britney Spears is suing an American magazine after they claimed she took cocaine in a Florida nightclub. US tabloid The Star quotes a member of the sexy singer's entourage claiming Britney snorted the class A drug in the VIP toilets of the Crobar Club in Miami on November 14 last year. The un-named source tells Star, "Britney was in town to listen to work producers had done on her next album. We spent the next two hours drinking and dancing, mostly with other friends of hers. Britney kept on twitching her nose. Later, I was told that a friend of hers purchased some coke earlier in the evening and her friends started snorting at the club before I arrived." The source adds, "We were just sitting around a table when one of her other guy friends turned to her, me and another girl and said, 'Let's go.' No one made any mention that we were going down to do some coke. We just silently followed him away from the table and toward the VIP bathroom. Once we were in, the guy cleans off the toilet top with a tissue and then takes out some cocaine. Using his driver license, he chopped it up into four lines." The friend says Britney took a dollar bill after the friend used it to snort up the cocaine and did a line herself. He says, "When we were finished, Britney turned to the girl and said, 'Check me, check me,' rocked her head back and motioned toward her nose.' The friend inspected Britney's nostrils as Britney rubbed them, saying, 'You look okay.' Then Britney checked the girl's nose to make sure none of the white powder was showing before they left the bathroom." But the superstar has reacted furiously to the allegations. Her spokeswoman Nathalie Moar tells British tabloid The Sun, "There is absolutely no truth to this story whatsoever. Lawyers for Miss Spears are filing a defamation suit as we speak." A source at Britney's record label Jive adds, "Britney is very upset about this."
Heche Upset With Her Personalities

Actress Anne Heche went to see a play based on her memoir - and stormed out, branding the show "sick." The ex-girlfriend of comedienne Ellen DeGeneres, who claimed in her book Call Me Crazy that she had multiple personalities, stopped by Hudson Avenue Theater in Los Angeles to catch a performance of All Us Crazy: TheAnne Heche Monologues. The play is an unauthorized take on Heche's book which features 14 actresses "performing" passages from the autobiography. Included in the show are monologues based on Heche's breakup with DeGeneres and the time she roamed the California desert on ecstasy, claiming she was from outer space and had to take the drug in order to board her spaceship. Heche and her husband Coley Laffoon decided to check out the play after seeing a sign advertising it, but left early. According to Los Angeles-based website Filth2GO.Com, the Laffoons "exited the theater in horror" as Heche exclaimed, "This is sick."
Jennifer in Negotiations for 'Daredevil' Spin-Off

Movie bosses are so pleased with the $43 million debut of Daredevil in America they're already talking about a spin-off for Jennifer Garner's heroine Elektra. Garner got to make out with Ben Affleck and then beat him up in the film, and now it looks as though her high-kicking character might get her own film. She says, "There is no ending to Elektra's story. There's talk of a spin-off and I'm open for it. As long as my stunt double is up for it, I'm up for it. I don't want to set myself up for something that isn't gonna happen."
J.Lo Attends Affleck Family Funeral
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck's latest outing has been kept a closely guarded secret - because it was for a family funeral. The couple attended the funeral of Affleck's grandmother in Brookline, Massachusetts, at the weekend. The couple reportedly arrived quietly at the 35-minute service and were then driven away in a Suv. Police provided extra security for the funeral.
Jackson's Interview Edited to Make Him Look Like a Liar
Michael Jackson's upcoming damage limitation TV special will prove he didn't lie about his cosmetic surgery, instead showing journalist Martin Bashir held back the truth. Jackson secretly filmed Bashir while the Brit made the controversial Living With Michael Jackson documentary - and now the singer is hoping to discredit the journalist. American broadcaster Maury Povich, who will present the special Michael Jackson Take 2: The Interview They Wouldn't Show You from the star's Neverland Ranch home on Thursday, admits Bashir's editing left the pop star looking foolish. The Povich-presented special will feature Jackson's full answers to questions that were cut by Bashir's crew, and Povich is sure it will clear up the confusion about the King Of Pop's plastic surgery. Jacko was publicly mocked for insisting he had only had two cosmetic surgeries on his nose, but Povich says, "Our footage shows him adding, 'Except for what they had to do with me when I was in the Pepsi ad fire.' His full answer was in the Bashir interview and they edited it out."
Bono Considered for Nobel Peace Prize

U2 rocker Bono is being considered for a shock Nobel Peace Prize. The Irish singer is competing with the head of the Catholic Church, Pope John Paul II, for the prestigious title, previously awarded to such international pacifist icons such as the Dalai Lama. Geir Lundestad, the head of the Norwegian Nobel Institute, says, "We have a total of 150 nominees so far, of which 21 are organizations." But Bono, who is being recognized for his tireless effort to shed more light on the AIDS epidemic in Africa, has some tough competition - according to Lundestad, if United Nations weapons inspector Hans Blix can prevent a war between America and Iraq, he'll be a favorite. Lundestad says, "If he succeeds in getting Iraq to disarm sufficiently to prevent the United States and Britain from going to war, he deserves it."
Spector Case Faces Delay
Murder suspect Phil Spector will have more time to prepare his defense case as Californian police have to spend more time compiling their case against him. The record producer is due to appear in court in March this year suspected of shooting B movie actress Lana Clarkson, 40, at his Los Angeles mansion. But officials have now stated they will not be able to present their findings to the court until March 3, the date of Spector's first appearance in court, which will mean the case has to be postponed. Lieutenant Dan Rosenberg says, "It's because we want to complete a very unbiased and comprehensive investigation. It takes time to get all the evidence we analyzed and back to us, and to interview people we feel we need to interview." Spector has yet to be charged with any offense and is currently out of bail after posting $1 million.
Kate Hudson's Year Off to Play Wife

Actress Kate Hudson loved taking last year out from hectic Hollywood life - because it allowed her to strengthen her beloved marriage. The 23-year-old beauty - married to ex-Black Crowes rocker Chris Robinson - won critical acclaim, a Golden Globe and an Academy Award nomination for her role in the 2000 flick Almost Famous. But as quickly as her star rose, the daughter of actress Goldie Hawn vanished - to keep things running smoothly at home. She says, "I was sort of questioning what I should do and I was so happy being with Chris, and we didn't want to leave each other. So my mom just said, 'Honey, please do yourself a favor and go be a wife for a year.' Those were her exact words, and she said, 'It will be the best thing that you ever do, because you can establish your relationship with your husband and when your lives do get really crazy, it won't happen right when you get married. It'll happen when you've already established a marriage.' So that's what I did." And now that she's back at work, having just released her latest flick How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days, Hudson has found herself inundated with offers. She notes, "After taking time off, now I've been doing films back to back. But I'm having a good time right now. This is really fun. I'm doing some movies that I got really lucky to get, which is why I'm doing all these movies. This is just not like me to go and do three movies and now four movies in a row!"
Oscar Boss Warns Eminem

Oscar show organizers have given rapper Eminem a stern warning as he prepares to perform at the Academy Awards - keep your performance clean. Eminem may perform his hit "Lose Yourself," one of the Best Song nominees, at the ceremony on March 23, and show producer Gil Cates has told the rapper he'll be required to perform the airplay version of the song - or else. Cates says, "This is a show for the family and we're very much aware of that. We would not knowingly have anything on the show which would be offensive."
