Sabrina the Teenage Witch remains a beloved sitcom of the late ’90s and early ’00s. Now, new generations of viewers can discover Melissa Joan Hart‘s spunky Sabrina Spellman through various streaming services. When Hart stopped by TV Insider and TV Guide Magazine’s offices, she reflected on her bewitching 1997 cover. “Funny enough, I have this blown up very big on my wall at home,” the actress quipped about her TV Guide Magazine cover photo. “It covers my fuse box in my house.” She added, “I think I liked it because I had the smokey eyes, and back then I didn’t get to wear a whole lot of makeup like this.” Inside the magazine, Hart embraced a much darker vibe than her effervescent teenage character. Decked out in a black corset dress, the young actress stood on a New York City fire escape alongside a skeleton in a suit.

Kathie Lee Gifford says she has forgiven Howard Stern after she received phone calls from the radio show apologizing profusely. “It was a surprise to get a voicemail from Howard Stern,” the 70-year-old recalled to Fox News Digital. “Once I listened to it, I said to my kids at the table, ‘Well, pigs have now officially flown.'” Stern and Gifford’s feuding first began in 1995 after Gifford was booed during her performance of the national anthem at Super Bowl Xxix. It began as a routine audit at Cast & Crew, one of several payroll companies that service the entertainment industry.
But that audit — typically handled in secret — has now raised alarms across Hollywood.
Last week, Cast & Crew put out a warning that the California Employment Development Department was attempting to “invalidate the use of loan-outs” — a common structure by which entertainment professionals get paid.
Without loan out companies, workers would be unable to deduct certain employment-related expenses — leading to higher income taxes. Their earnings would also be subject to payroll taxes, which fund the state unemployment and disability insurance programs.

Late night had a field day after the Will Smith-Chris Rock incident at the Oscars in 2022, but after a long break, Smith is set to guest next Tuesday on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, reuniting with Questlove in the process.
Smith did appear on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah in 2022, eight months after he slapped Rock onstage at the Academy Awards, in which he sat for an interview with Noah and discussed the slap at length, but he’s otherwise avoided late night.

Smith guested on the host’s first-ever Tonight Show in 2014 (where he memorably performed with Fallon in “The Evolution of Hip-Hop Dancing”), and returned to the program seven more times through 2021.

“I think it’s truly the most interesting detail about this entire story, that the Virks not only said to Warren that they forgave him, but that they literally advocated on his behalf and his parole hearing and helped to support him in his transition and to work with restorative justice,” “Under the Bridge” creator Quinn Shephard told IndieWire. “I mean, it’s an immense strength.”
In the finale of Hulu’s “Under the Bridge,” which aired May 29, viewers finally see a group of teenagers — particularly Kelly (Izzy G.) and Warren (Javon Walton) — held accountable for killing teenage classmate Reena Virk, and get sentenced.

Yee-haw! Yellowstone co-stars Ryan Bingham and Hassie Harrison are officially married. The actors, who play onscreen love interests Walker and Laramie in the hit Paramount Network series, wed at Harrison’s family home in Dallas, Texas. Their wedding would make any Yellowstone fan cheer. “I knew I wanted Western, but it had to be elegant Western, with tones of worn leather, delicate lace, and a soft, blush color palette,” Harrison told Vogue. Their nuptials had a cowboy black tie dress code. Harrison wore two wedding dresses on her big day, one for the ceremony and another one for the reception. The couple wrote their own vows. Harrison recalled the moment she saw Bingham as she walked down the aisle. “It was a moment so raw and filled with emotion, it perfectly captured everything we felt about stepping into this new chapter together,” she said. Ever walk in on a relative in an intimate moment and you really wish you hadn’t? Yeah, imagine that it’s your mother (Nicole Kidman) … with your former boss (Zac Efron). That’s the reality for Zara (Joey King) in A Family Affair, directed by Richard Lagravenese. In the new trailer for the film, you can see Zara bear witness to that extremely awkward — and, unfortunately for her, painful — surprise. Upon seeing her boss and mother in bed together, Zara spins on the spot and collides directly with the wall.
It took quite a few takes to get the perfect doorframe collision on film. “I did it about three times, and then took a moment to watch those takes back and decided I needed to keep trying until it was perfect,” King tells Tudum. “The hit on the head wasn’t looking real enough...

Your mom hooking up with your movie star boss is a recipe for… romance? That’s exactly what happens to Zara Ford (Joey King) in the upcoming Netflix rom-com A Family Affair, directed by Richard Lagravenese and written by Carrie Solomon. Zara catches her mom, Brooke (Nicole Kidman), hooking up with the handsome and much younger Chris Cole (Zac Efron). Zara immediately knocks herself unconscious as she reels from witnessing her boss and mom in the midst of a sexy rendezvous. “Name the movie I won a Teen Choice Award for,” Chris asks Zara, who holds up her middle finger in reply. Zara is not on board with her mom dating Chris whatsoever. “He’s going to hurt her, and I will have to kill him,” she says. Despite Zara’s vocal disapproval, Brooke and Chris just can’t stay away from each other. “I’ve been waiting for you forever,...

The murderer you’ve been hunting is someone you know. Your husband’s a crooked cop. And then you go into labor while trapped in the wreckage of a car accident. Scrappy PC Jo Marshall (Sophie Rundle) survived all of that in the finale of this six-part mystery thriller, which began with the discovery of a dead man in an underground parking garage after a devastating flood. Jo was obsessed with finding the killer, but in doing so committed crimes of her own and discovered that her colleagues had done far worse. We still have questions about After the Flood, so Rundle agreed to review the evidence. Jo learned that her husband, loving but overprotective Pat, was there when his on-the-take police colleague, Phil Mackie (Nicholas Gleaves) murdered Daniel Eden (Arthur McBain). On “House of the Dragon,” HBO’s fantasy epic that takes place two centuries before “Game of Thrones,” Matt Smith plays Daemon, a warrior prince who exists among fire-breathing reptiles and palace intrigue. But if his character were ever to leap deeper into the supernatural, Smith has some ideas about where he could go. “I think Daemon would make a really good vampire,” he says. “I can imagine him wandering the earth alone for all eternity.”
He certainly has the coloring: Pallid and platinum-blonde, Daemon looks as if he could have arrived in the forbidding and dark world of Westeros all the way from Transylvania.

On June 6, the 2024 IndieWire Honors ceremony will celebrate thirteen creators and stars responsible for some of the most stellar work of the TV season. Curated and selected by IndieWire’s editorial team, this event is a new edition of its IndieWire Honors event focused entirely on television. Alex Edelman will host the event. We’re showcasing their work with new interviews leading up to the Los Angeles event.
Alex Edelman’s recollection of attending a Neo-Nazi cocktail party in New York City without telling anyone that he’s Jewish is the marquee moment in “Just for Us,” his blockbuster one-man show that later became an acclaimed HBO special. The anecdote manages to turn a horrifying situation into a comedic exploration of the logical fallacies that are required to maintain a bigoted worldview thanks to Edelman’s sharp wit and his fast-paced delivery. But even as his tale of undercover racism...

Charlie Hamilton James’ Billy & Molly: An Otter Love Story charmed audiences and critics when it premiered at this year's SXSW. Poaching isn’t just for pears and eggs, apparently. On this week’s episode of Gordon Ramsay’s Food Stars, the other meaning of the word gets Chef Gordon all fired up when one of the contestants stoops to stealing customers. And honestly, we kind of respect her hustle. After last week’s season opener saw Ramsay and competitor-slash-colleague, Lisa Vanderpump, picking teams of seven from Season 2’s top 14 culinary-biz entrepreneurs, the Britain-set battle is officially on. And in their first challenge, the teams must create a bespoke menu for a food truck that will cater to hungry folks at a southwest London retail-and-leisure hot spot. The catch? Not only must the food be top-drawer, but the truck must make a profit, as well. The team that brings in the lowest dough will, as Ramsay explained to us, “be facing a severe grilling by Lisa and I, going over the...

The stakes in South Korea’s Pyramid Game may not be quite as high as in the infamous Squid Game, but try telling that to the tormented adolescents subjected to shame and violent bullying in this gripping though seriously bloated melodrama, based on a webtoon. “School is a smaller version of society” is an oft-repeated theme, a lesson soon learned by spunky Su-ji (Kim Ji-yeon), the new arrival in a corporate-funded girls’ high school who tells herself, “You need to figure out who’ll be beneficial to you or not, and find your place among all the kids, so that you don’t crash land at the top or the bottom.” Unfortunately, she gets seated next to a gentle outcast, the sullen and remote Ja-eun (Ryu Da-in), in a classroom that inexplicably is located in its own building, away from prying eyes as a savage game of toxic peer pressure is enacted.

Blue Bloods is gearing up for its final season, and the show’s stars, Donnie Wahlberg and Tom Selleck, are looking back at what made the police procedural drama so successful. In a story for emmy magazine’s June issue, excerpted by People, the actors reflected on the hit CBS series, particularly focusing on those iconic Sunday family dinner scenes, which have become a signature part of the show. “At the first dinner scene, I had to be fully committed to this character and who he was and his thoughts on the situation he was dealing with — and be willing to turn that dinner table upside down,” Wahlberg told the outlet. “And to do that with Tom Selleck sitting at the head of the table? He’s an icon.” Wahlberg plays Detective Danny Reagan on the show, the son of Commissioner Frank Reagan, played by Selleck. The series revolves around the Reagan family,...

The 49th season of Saturday Night Live featured 40 distinct musical guest segments that accounted for 12.2% of the season’s total running time. The 20 artists collectively achieved about two hours and 28 minutes of screen time, averaging out to almost seven and a half minutes apiece. Scroll down to see how each stacked up against one another.
Note that the screen times listed here for Bad Bunny and Dua Lipa, who each pulled double duty this season as both host and musical guest, do not include their sketch appearances (those numbers can be found in our host ranking).
Also not factored into this ranking are cameos that ten of this season’s musical guests made during their respective episodes

Ken Jennings is usually lenient when it comes to his role as Jeopardy! host, but he isn’t afraid to get mean and throw some shade when the situation calls for it. On the latest episode of the Inside Jeopardy! podcast, hosts Sarah Whitcomb Foss and Buzzy Cohen played a clip from an off-air segment where a member of the studio audience asked Jennings what happens when a contestant doesn’t answer in the form of a question. “Oh, boy. Do you know what hanging, drawing, and quartering is?” Jennings quipped. The host went on to say that he gets progressively meaner throughout the episode if a contestant continues to mess up that key Jeopardy! rule. He explained, “The rules are actually different in the first and second rounds. In the first round, I get to remind them very sternly. I say, ‘Yes, but please remember your phrases.'” “In the second round,...
