The Lego Batman Movie's Chris McKay is the new choice to direct the Dungeons & Dragons film...
The long-smouldering new movie of Dungeons & Dragons looks like it’s zeroing in on its choice of director, with The Lego Batman Movie’s Chris McKay in talks to take on the job. The same Chris McKay who is set to direct the Nightwing film for Warner Bros and DC.
Paramount Pictures and AllSpark Pictures are backing the movie, which will work from a screenplay by Michael Gillio.
It sounds as if this one is moving relatively quickly now as well. Back in 2016, Rob Letterman had been attached to the project as director, but if McKay signs on the dotted line, then the plan will be to get the film into production in the autumn. A 2021 release date had previously been mooted.
Whether this affects McKay directing the Nightwing movie remains to be seen.
