Cobra Kai season 6: Netflix announces premiere dates for 15 episode, 3 part conclusion to the series
Production on the sixth and final season of the hit Netflix series Cobra Kai, a continuation of the Karate Kid film franchise, was delayed several months due to the writers and actors strikes last year – but the extended wait is going to be worth it, because Netflix has just announced that the show is wrapping up with a 15 episode season (previous seasons consisted of 10 episodes), and they’re splitting the episodes up to make it a three part event! As they put it, “The end of a legacy… deserves a Grand Finale.” They’ve also revealed premiere dates: Cobra Kai Season 6, Part 1 premieres July 18, 2024. Part 2 premieres November 28, 2024. The Finale Event comes in 2025.
I’m hyped to finally have premiere dates for most of the episodes, because this show has become one of my all-time favorites over the course of the previous five seasons. I grew up on the Karate Kid movies and always enjoyed them,...

From the opening minutes of this past Sunday night’s penultimate episode you immediately know it’s going to be an impactful one. Judith Grimes once again narrates the intro sequence, this time over a montage of our survivors picking up their trusty weapons from a large chest in Alexandria. The period of peace in the Commonwealth is over, and once again the crew needs to arm up and fight…hopefully for one final time. Judith picks up one of Michonne’s swords and Rick’s infamous python. She places Carl’s sheriff hat on R.J. Grimes.
The swan song of “The Walking Dead” has begun.
Surprisingly, the Outpost 22 variation of Alexandria is not the grand finale setting for the series. It seems as if the over-taking of the soldiers during last episode’s lineup resulted in the saving of Alexandria from Commonwealth command. Such a drastic win for...

The swan song for “The Walking Dead” continues with episode 19, properly titled “Variant.” Picking up in the aftermath of Sebastian’s accidental murder at the hands of Eugene, the Commonwealth is desperate to make an example out of him and Maxine. Meanwhile, Aaron, Lydia, Jerry, and Elijah (Okea Eme-Akwari) explore a new territory and uncover a terrifying revelation.
The biggest draw of this episode is the highly-anticipated re-introduction of the “Variant” walker, first seen in season 1 of the series and most recently hinted at in the after-credits scene of “The Walking Dead: World Beyond.” That’s right, this episode reveals a walker that can open doors, climb fences, and lift itself up onto ledges. Just when it seemed like walkers were the least of the survivors’ worries, this new evolution of the infected foe has re-established them as a key threat within the series.

It's not just zombies who come back from the dead. Negan (played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan) makes a dramatic return and surprises some old friends in this exclusive clip from the March 27 episode of The Walking Dead. After walking out on Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and her group earlier in the season, the two parties reunite. Negan has been hiding out in the Riverbend apartment complex with Annie (Medina Senghore). When Maggie, Aaron (Ross Marquand), Lydia (Cassady McClincy) and Elijah (Okea Eme-Akwari) make their way into one of the units, Annie surprises them and commands them to drop their weapons. The biggest bombshell of all, however, is that Negan is also on the...

[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for The Walking Dead Season 11, Episode 13, “Warlords.”] We all knew it was too good to be true, right? Granted, signs that the Commonwealth was up to no good were appearing earlier on in the season than in “Warlords,” but in this Aaron (Ross Marquand) and Gabriel (Seth Gilliam)-centric hour, it becomes abundantly clear that the new community — or at least, the faction of it that’s under Lance Hornsby’s (Josh Hamilton) thumb — is bad, with a capital “B.” And also brutal, with a capital “B.” Here’s how it happens. At Hilltop, Lydia (Cassady McClincy) and her friends have a grim encounter with a dying man on horseback. He has a Commonwealth checkpoint pamphlet on him, and his dying words are that Lydia “has to go” and that “they’re slaughtering them.” Maggie (Lauren Cohan) heads out to investigate, taking Lydia and Elijah (Okea Eme-Akwari) with her. They go...

[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for The Walking Dead Season 11, Episode 9, “No Other Way.”] The Walking Dead is back, and the 11B premiere of AMC’s post-apocalyptic zombie drama was nothing short of explosive. To recap, after firing many fireworks at our favorite survivors’ heads, Maggie (Lauren Cohan) officially ended the war against the Reapers with a slaughter. A lovelorn Daryl (Norman Reedus), Father Gabriel (Seth Gilliam), redemption-arc Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and a revenge-seeking Elijah (Okea Eme-Akwari) helped Maggie to obtain the food needed to save the remaining Alexandrians from near-starvation, despite some varying opinions on her little murder spree. Reapers leader and Daryl’s former S.O. Leah (Lynn Collins) escapes. Also, we finally learn the fate of the injured Alden (Callan McAuliffe) after many episodes away; and Negan abandons the group, walking off into the woods (more on that below). But the biggest reveal? Daryl removing a Commonwealth helmet from his head in...

The Walking Dead Season 11 Episode 9
For all the good that can be achieved with scale in an action setting, there’s nothing like a down-and-dirty scrap for survival. The Walking Dead does big battle scenes well, especially given the limitations of a television budget and shooting schedule, but when the show narrows focus and attempts a more restrained combat setting, be it a one-on-one knife fight or one survivor versus a crowded stairwell of walkers, the technical prowess of the creative team and the show’s stunt team and second unit team really come through.
Throughout “No Other Way,” the action is taken to street level, whether it’s Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and a surviving Reaper fighting over a rare shelter from the fiery arrow storm of the hwacha or Rosita (Christian Serratos) and the Alexandrians forming a makeshift corpse barricade on the...

Cobra Kai has mastered the season finale cliffhanger just like Daniel-san mastered ‘wax on, wax off.’ It started with its first season finale. That ended with the startling appearance of Sensei John Kreese (Martin Kove), which took the series to a whole new level. The season 2 finale literally tossed us off that cliff with Miguel’s (Xolo Maridueña) spine-breaking fall. And in the finale of season 3, Daniel (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny (William Zabka) are forced to unite for the ultimate showdown against Cobra Kai in the arena that started it all, the All Valley Karate Tournament.
Keeping up the pace, the ending of season 4 delivers several rapid-fire twists and spinning kicks, setting the stage for the inevitable season 5. As expected, season 4 culminated at the nefarious All Valley Karate Tournament. The competition was packed with so many changes of heart: Daniel and Johnny reconciling after their turbulent failure to cooperate,...

This article contains potential spoilers for The Walking Dead Season 11.
If one needed a firm indication that AMC’s The Walking Dead is on a quick collision course with its climax, the announced casting of fan-favorite character Mercer should certainly suffice. Michael James Shaw has landed the role, which he will field on the upcoming eleventh and final season of the franchise-spawning series. While there have been major divergences from Robert Kirkman’s comic source material, it does seem that Mercer will be as crucial to the approaching endgame of the series as he was to the comic.
The tweeted official announcement of Michael James Shaw’s casting as Mercer, who runs the military side of massive community the Commonwealth, sent a clear signal that the actor will be the most visually comic-adherent adaptation of a Walking Dead character thus far, showing the 6’ 2” African-American actor in jacked form, looking uncannily...

Maggie Rhee is back and she means business. With the premiere of the first of six bonus episodes of Season 10 of “The Walking Dead,” Lauren Cohan has officially made her full-time return to the series that made her a household name.
Before delving into the storyline of this week’s episode, Variety asked Cohan about her experience shooting the show under Covid protocols and how it differed from her past experiences on the set.
“There were obviously a lot of parallels for us shooting the show that’s about an apocalyptic environment, and coming out of what most of us know to be the closest thing to an apocalyptic environment,” Cohan said with a laugh. “We shot episodes that involved a lot less people. The Walking Dead Season 10 Episode 17
The Walking Dead is not a show that can be described as “free from issues.” Since the very first season, the series has made a habit of introducing a group, only for that group to self-destruct, disappear, or die, either on screen in the case of the prisoners from season three’s West Georgia Correctional Facility, or off-screen in the case of the eponymous Vatos from season one’s “Vatos.” A group shows up, and typically, they die in short order. Maggie’s group of hardened survivor pals is no different. A few will stick around, but for the most part, most of them are just waiting to go from their first appearance on screen.
Of course, as it usually it, it’s in service of a bigger, badder enemy. This one seems to have it out personally...

News of the early premiere is not surprising: New episodes have been launching days ahead of their traditional cable TV broadcast for a while now, but a whole week is something else.

The Kingdom had fallen, Hilltop was virtually destroyed and Alexandria abandoned to prepare for final battle.

We are just weeks away from the return of The Walking Dead Season 10.
AMC has dropped the trailer for the six bonus episodes, and we have a lot of questions.
We'll start with Maggie because these will be her first episodes back as a series regular.
It's clear from the trailer that Negan being free is a lot for her to process.
"He asked how his daddy died," Maggie tells Daryl in the trailer of Hershel.
"I told him a bad man killed him. And he wanted to know if that man got what he deserved."
This will undoubtedly make things complicated, considering Negan just saved everyone from The Whisperers.
It's hard to imagine Maggie being able to co-exist in an environment with him.
Speaking of Negan, the trailer shows a leather jacket and red scarf clad Negan tapping on the floor with his trusty bat Lucille while demanding, "Little pig,...

The Walking Dead is returning for a batch of fresh episodes in about six weeks’ time, and this new promo reminds us why we should be feeling the hype. Produced last fall and made specifically to comply with Covid-19 regulations, these six anthology-style outings will feature the survivors continuing their journeys after defeating the Whisperers and take place ahead of the show’s eleventh and final season.
Unlike the previous trailer, which unveiled fresh footage, this promo features stills of the main characters, with quotes played over the top. There’s Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus), Maggie Rhee (Lauren Cohan), Ezekiel (Khary Payton), Judith Grimes (Cailey Fleming), Princess (Paula Lazaro), Eugene Porter (Josh McDermitt), Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride), Father Gabriel (Seth Gilliam), Aaron (Ross Marquand) and, last but not least, Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). “Coming February 28,” the tagline reads. “Six new stories, one shared fate.”

A new promo image for The Walking Dead season 10C offers another glimpse at Lauren Cohan’s Maggie Rhee, as well as teasing a mystery character.
When Maggie returned in the season 10 finale, she brought with her a new ally – a masked man with kama weapons. We know we’ll find out more about them when the post-apocalyptic drama resumes, but a new photo reveals that there’s someone else we’ve got to theorize about.
This pic, which presumably comes from “Home Sweet Home,” the opening episode of the additional chunk of season 10 that’s debuting next month, captures Maggie staking out in the woods. Behind her, though, you can see someone obscured in camouflage holding a knife. It appears that Lauren Cohan’s character is unaware of the danger lurking in close proximity, though.
You can check it out for yourself down below with a whole slew of other photos,...

“There’s still goodness, we just have to look for it,” The Walking Dead’s Gabriel tells us in the goosebump-inducing trailer that AMC dropped Tuesday for Season 10’s half-dozen bonus episodes (which will begin to air on Sunday, Feb. 28, at 9/8c). But from the sounds of it, he and his fellow survivors may have to squint to spot it.
When the season picks up where it left off (refresh your memory here), the preacher and his pals are “trying to pick themselves up by their bootstraps following the destruction the Whisperers left in their wake,” according to the show’s official logline.

This weekend, AMC released a new in-production trailer which teased the return of The Walking Dead in early 2021. The promo was our first proper look at season 10C, revealing new additions to the cast that we can’t wait to meet. Namely, mysterious grizzled survivor Mays (Terminator 2 icon Robert Patrick), Negan’s late wife Lucille (Hilarie Burton Morgan) and Elijah (Okea Eme-Akwari). Another reveal that’s easy to overlook, though, is the first appearance of the aged-up Hershel, Maggie and Glenn’s son.
In one clip, the now eight-year-old kid is seen striding along in between his mom (Lauren Cohan) and uncle Daryl (Norman Reedus). In a nod to his late father, he’s also wearing a similar baseball cap to the one Glenn wore back in seasons 1 and 2.

The Walking Dead is returning in February 2021. This week, AMC confirmed that we can expect to see the next batch of episodes from the post-apocalyptic drama arrive in a few months’ time and now, we’ve got a bunch of new synopses which tease what what’s to come when the series resumes for season 10C, which is a special six-part mini-season produced to keep us entertained while we wait for the eleventh and final run.
First of all, this overall synopsis reminds us where things left off as well as promising a crisis of faith for the survivors as they ponder the state of the world, humanity and their own souls in the wake of the defeat of the Whisperers. This fits with how showrunner Angela Kang has teased “a deep dive into the characters” in these episodes.

AMC has revealed the return date for season 10 of The Walking Dead. The horror series already aired its 10th "season finale" in October but the cable channel ordered six additional episodes to air after that. These half dozen installments will begin airing on Sunday, February 28th on AMC. Each episode will be released a few days earlier on the AMC+ streaming service. Robert Patrick and Hilarie Burton Morgan will guest in the new episodes and Okea Eme-Akwari has joined as a co-star.
Earlier this year, AMC announced that The Walking Dead would end with its 11th season of 24 episodes, which will be broken up over two years. The series is expected to end in late 2022 but new spin-offs are in the works.

The Walking Dead fans have been chewing on a mystery for much of this year, ever since the preview for the long-delayed season 10 finale teased the arrival of a masked man. Even when the episode eventually aired, though, it didn’t provide us any clues as to their identity, other than that they were a good guy and an ally of the newly returned Maggie.
Theories erupted that they were this familiar face or that comic book character, but the answer has finally been revealed, as AMC has unveiled the actor beneath the mask. Okea Eme-Akwari has officially joined the cast, following his debut in “A Certain Doom,” as Elijah. Proving all those theories wrong, he’s an original creation for the TV series and we’ll get to know him better in the bonus episodes of season 10 that are on their way, premiering in February next year.
