Matthew Patrick may be stepping away from his role as the on-screen host of The Game Theorists, but he will stay active in the creator community. The man known as MatPat has been announced as a Featured Creator for VidCon, which will return to the Anaheim Convention Center on June 26, 2024.
Patrick is no stranger to VidCon. In his previous appearances at the annual convention, he has shared insights from his behind-the-camera work as a digital strategist and consultant. His departure from the Theorist Media brand — which was acquired by startup Lunar X in 2022 — will give him more time to analyze YouTube in detail.
VidCon announced its first batch of 2024 Featured Creators a month ago, when it set the date for the next edition of its Southern California gathering. Patrick headlined a second group of Featured Creators that also includes Fifth Harmony member Dinah Jane, “Internet Coworker” Rod Thill, multihyphenate Kalen Allen,...

Doug DeMuro has new representation. The automotive expert, whose car reviews reach nearly five million YouTube subscribers, has signed with Beverly Hills-based talent agency WME.
The representation deal will cover DeMuro’s personal brand as well as his Cars & Bids venture. The California-based creator launched his automotive auction platform in 2020 alongside tech entrepreneur Blake Machado. Cars & Bids has since established itself as a useful hub for car lovers who are looking to buy and sell rare vehicles.
DeMuro and Machado’s hub has been supported several injections of funding, including a $37 million round led by The Chernin Group earlier this year. Cars & Bids currently facilitates $380 million of sales for special-interest vehicles while reaching millions of visitors per month.
Before launching his YouTube channel and co-founding Cars & Bids, DeMuro held editorial gigs at outlets like Jalopnik and Autotrader.com. His viewers trust him thanks to his insights about popular manufacturers and his detail-oriented review style.

That’s a wrap on the 12th annual Streamy Awards, which presented nearly 50 awards and honors to 2022’s top creators.
After going virtual in 2020 and 2021, the Streamys (produced by Tubefilter and dick clark productions) returned to Irl this year, and to its home turf: the Beverly Hilton hotel in Los Angeles.
2022’s awards were party rocked by master of ceremonies Airrack, who just so happened to walk away with two nods of his own: top First Person creator as well as a Creator Honor, which we’ll talk more about below. The show was also streamed exclusively from Airrack’s YouTube channel—a first for the Streamys, which normally broadcasts from its own channel.
.@airrack is taking home the for First Person! Congrats!
