“Survivor” debuted on CBS as a summer program on May 31, 2000. Hosted by Jeff Probst since the very beginning, it is credited by many as starting the reality show craze that has been a major part of TV this century. After being on the air for two decades, 20 of the most iconic champions returned in Season 40’s “Winners at War” to compete in the first-ever all-winners season. Following a temporary delay due to Covid-19, the reality TV show continued with even more twists and turns, plus more diversity amongst its cast members. Tour our updated “Survivor” winners list above (or click here for direct access) that highlights everyone from Season 1’s Richard Hatch to the most recent.

Wednesday’s “Survivor: Ghost Island” season finale was one for the record books, as Domenick Abbate and Wendell Holland tied for the win at the final tribal council. In the end, non-tied finalist Laurel Johnson was given the power to cast the deciding vote and she chose Wendell, with whom she had a closer personal relationship on the island. While some of our readers are happy that Wendell joined the “Survivor” winners list, the vast majority believe that Domenick was robbed.

After 36 seasons of Survivor, something happened on the latest season finale that has never happened before. In the final tribal vote for Survivor: Ghost Island, the members were split and the vote was tied. That left the ultimate decision up to one person to decide who would take home the cash prize of $1,000,000. But with it coming so down to the wire, does the Survivor runner-up gets a prize? Domenick Abbate, Laurel Johnson, and Wendell Holland were the final three contestants standing on Survivor: Ghost Island. When the final tribal council came together for a vote, the result […]

The “Survivor” reunion show used to be a place for castaways to air their grievances, recall their favorite moments and get emotional about their time on the island. For one hour, the players would gather in front of a live studio audience immediately following the announcement of their winner and let loose with host Jeff Probst. However, over the past few years the “Survivor” reunion show has slowly been snuffed out before our eyes.

Wednesday night the Season 36 finale of “Survivor” airs with six players still in the hunt to be named the sole survivor of “Ghost Island.” Domenick Abbate, Wendell Holland and Laurel Johnson have been in an unbreakable, albeit secret, alliance and friendship since the merge. Last week, their other ally, Donathan Hurley, turned against them, coming up short of the big move he needed to wrestle away control. On the periphery and sticking to the old school mentality of tribal loyalty are Sebastian Noel and Angela Perkins. With hidden idols, secret advantages, another trip to ghost island and at least two immunity challenges left, the million dollar prize is anyone’s to claim! Or is it?
Below I give my reasons why Domenick and Wendell are the only two left with an actual shot at winning and hypothesize what the other four need in order to have a chance. Agree or disagree with my assessment?...

Kellyn, Angela Perkins and Chelsea Townsend feared that Wendell and Domenick were too powerful, and that one or both had hidden idols, which helped clinch their plan to vote for Wendell. Following the elimination of Chelsea Townsend on this week’s emotional loved ones episode of “Survivor: Ghost Island,” we had a chance to ask her five burning questions. Check out Chelsea’s written responses below — but first, a quick recap. While this 25-year-old Los Angeles resident was sparely seen during the first half of the game, she made a name for herself after the merge by winning back-to-back immunity challenges.
Unfortunately, Chelsea’s physical stamina made her too much of a threat, so the dominating five-person alliance of Domenick Abbate, Wendell Holland, Sebastian Noel, Donathan Hurley and Laurel Johnson voted her out in eighth place. Chelsea, Kellyn Bechtold and Angela Perkins — the so-called “Naviti girls” — tried to send home Wendell, but they were simply outnumbered. Here now is our exit interview with Chelsea:

After last week’s shocking double elimination, we’re down to the Top 8 on “Survivor: Ghost Island.” Because there’s an even split of four women and four men, we’re dividing this week’s power rankings up by gender. On top for the women are Kellyn Bechtold and Laurel Johnson, allies by way of their mutual relationships with Domenick Abbate and Wendell Holland, but who in the last tribal council voted against one another out of fear that an idol would be used. I’m not sure there’s any path for both of these women to make it to the final tribal council together, but personally I think that’d be the most competitive end to the season.

We’re down to the Top 10 on “Survivor: Ghost Island” which means it’s the perfect time to split the remaining players into a field of five that can win and five that are in the most danger. First up are Kellyn Bechtold and Laurel Johnson, two players I thought had the strongest winner edits three weeks ago. They’re joined by Domenick Abbate, Wendell Holland and Michael Yerger, arguably the three strongest players who a few weeks ago I thought would have too big of targets on their backs to last, but have since managed to diminish their threat level among the others.

Desiree Afuye was a member of the dominating Naviti alliance on “Survivor: Ghost Island,” so why did she risk it all by trying to make a big move in Wednesday’s 10th episode? “I didn’t want to get to a point in the game where I realized it was too late and I didn’t have my own move to pitch to the jury,” she tells us about her idea of trying to get out some of the big players like Kellyn Bechtold, Domenick Abbate and Wendell Holland. “That’s what I had in mind making that move.” Listen to our “Survivor” exit interview podcast above.

On Thursday night’s merge episode of “Survivor: Ghost Island” the brewing war between Chris Noble and Domenick Abbate finally came to a head, resulting in an iconic blindside of Chris who was eliminated in a near-unanimous vote at a tribal council (his first!) he couldn’t even vote at with a hidden immunity idol safe (and unused!) in his pocket. (Listen to our exit interview with Chris.) With Chris out of the game only 12 players are left and a game once dominated by original tribe loyalty is now wide open to any player willing and prepared to seize control.

Domenick Abbate has managed to keep his legacy advantage a secret thus far on “Survivor: Ghost Island,” but he’s about to make a tough decision on whether to finally use it. The rules say that the legacy advantage, which gives the bearer immunity, can only be used when there are 13 people left in the game or when there are six people left in the game. Wednesday’s all-new episode will feature the highly anticipated merge, when the three tribes come together as one and the remaining 13 castaways start their individual games. Will Domenick play his legacy advantage now, or hold it until the Final 6? Give your thoughts by voting down in our poll.

What strategy do you employ when predicting who will be named the winner of “Survivor: Ghost Island”? One clue some prognosticators use is the “winner’s edit,” the belief that producers of the long-running reality TV show typically provide the eventual winner a favorable, heroic and/or ever-present edit throughout the season. One easy way to narrow down which players have favorable edits is to decide which players don’t — consider Chelsea Townsend and Libby Vincek who have been narratively invisible for much of the season so far. It’d be hard to build an argument for either of them to be the beneficiaries of winner’s edits when we know so little about who they are as players and strategists.
Instead, look to the players that have had an abundance of confessionals, are edited into episodes they might otherwise not have an important role in and are shown narrating...

On Wednesday’s seventh episode of “Survivor: Ghost Island” Bradley Kleihege looks to be in danger of heading home, according to our official predictions. Bradley has leading 11/5 odds to go home in “Gotta Risk it For the Biscuit,” but should he survive the vote, Libby Vincek is next on our elimination chart with 5/2 odds.

According to Gold Derby’s exclusive predictions, the ever-growing feud between Chris Noble and Domenick Abbate will reach its apex on Wednesday’s fifth episode of “Survivor,” titled “A Diamond In The Rough.” These two castaways have been going at each others’ throats since Day 1, despite Domenick trying to make good with Chris by showing him his [fake] hidden immunity idol. The only problem? Chris recognized that the idol was likely fake, so all trust was lost. Our predictions favor Chris to go home this week with leading 8/5 odds, while Domenick looks to be safe as he only has 50/1 odds.
