Hailing from Bourgogne,
Julien Patrice moved to Paris to study film direction at ESRA in 2001. More interested in working on the field than staying in the classroom, he spent most of his time chasing underground concerts in specialised stages, ending up by creating Le Groupe Zero to shoot more music events.
At the age of 24, freshly graduated, he's detected by Patrick Giordano, Game Production CEO and Game One founder. They joined forces to produce the Hellfest first DVD which initiated his collaboration with iconic bands like MotorHead, Madball, Gojira or Dead Kennedy's. On the strength of this new reputation, he started working with the greatest - Slayer, The Offspring, Rob Zombie, Deftones, Linkin Park - for several important media, such as France TV, Canal +, MCM, MTV. But Julien never forgot his first true love for underground stages.
In 2014, he created the video collective The Humancentiprod with childhood friends, in order to make movies. Shortly after, Julien started shooting his first music videos for international artists. After 6 years of existence, he signed his first movie, Hunting Day. Despite the global pandemic of 2020, Julien kept working with Arte on a Hellfest documentary.
Nominated for almost 60 nominations around the world for his music videos, he won 10 awards this year and God Pretends, the music video he directed for the french metal band Kause, became the most award-winning in french metal history.
