Method acting is a notorious form of rehearsal that many actors get a bad reputation for, but none have mastered it like Christian Bale. His physical transformations are iconic and a testament to his dedication. From losing a surprising amount of weight for The Machinist to bulking up to play Batman, Bale’s dedication is unmatched in the film industry. Sometimes, voice actors also need to utilize method acting, and it seems that the cast of Solo Leveling has adopted it.

Based on the original manhwa, which consisted of intense action scenes and intricate world-building, it seemed to be an exact fit for the studio behind Demon Slayer and Fate.

The announcement of Solo Leveling season 1 was a viral news piece. Fans waited almost a year for the anime to arrive. Since Studio A1 Pictures, whose previous productions include Fairy Tail, Sword Art Online, and Mashle, had taken over the series, the hype doubled in size pretty soon.

So when anime’s producer, Sota Furuhashi, hinted at an attempt to rectify the mistakes of the past, you bet fans saw it as a complete win.

The Screenrant interviewed the English voice of Sung Jinwoo, Aleks Le, and the series’ Adr Director, Caitlin Glass. One of the primary ways the country of Japan can deliver the absolute delicacy of its anime industry, like Solo Leveling, to watchers around the globe is through dubbing. For those who might not be familiar with the idea, dubbing is when the dialogues of an anime are voiced over in other languages to reach a wider audience.
Nonetheless, while dubbing is a relevant practice for the most part, it is still frowned upon when compared to its alternative, which is to watch an animated series with original Japanese audio along with subtitles. However, this is not the case for the recently released Solo Leveling anime, which is already crossing many fans’ expectations.

While Solo Leveling is mostly being widely enjoyed by fans, its most recent update, episode 7.5, didn’t bring in the best of reviews. In fact, if anything, out of all the eight episodes released of the web novel turned manhwa-based anime series, this very episode has earned the reputation of becoming the worst-rated episode on Crunchyroll.

Sub vs Dub is a debate that will never cease in the anime fandom. While the efforts required to make an anime have more or less become the topic of common discussion of anime fandoms and forums online, there is very little talk going on about what it takes to successfully dub an anime into English.
However, in a recent interview with popular entertainment website Cinemablend, Caitlin Glass, the Adr (Automated dialogue replacement) director for Solo Leveling talked about the massive efforts that go into creating a perfect dub for an anime.
According to Glass, even before she gets started on the work, the translation team takes up the job of translating the anime that is provided by licensors. More often than not, these anime do not come with English Subtitles or translations. So it is the task of the translators to come up with suitable translations for the content.

The anime adaptation of the well-known manhwa, Solo Leveling, has gained widespread acceptance because of its captivating storyline and breathtaking visual content. However, the wildly successful anime series has made a couple of minor modifications that exist between the anime and manhwa, and fans aren’t sure if they’ve all been for the better.

Despite the fact that A-1 Pictures has faithfully captured the story in its entirety, some fans see an abrupt shift in tone from Chugong’s original manhwa. Fans like how the manhwa strikes a balance between humor and violence, providing amusing reactions and comedic relief. However, this does not appear to be the case with the anime series.
Several manga readers have pointed out that the Solo Leveling anime has cut out a number of humorous portions that were critically important to the manhwa. While this has not yet affected the series, it...

Two wide studio releases will hopefully prevent this summer from reaching another low at the box office after last weekend’s 67.3M. If there’s one movie that’s going to pull ahead, sources are betting on Crunchyroll’s Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero. That distributor has proven in a short amount of time that they can draw a great deal of anime fans in a Friday through Sunday span. The Tetsuro Kodama directed animation movie is looking at anywhere from 12M-15M, ahead of Universal’s genre lion-stalking film, Beast, starring Idris Elba; that pic hoping for at least double digits.
Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, booked in around 3,940 theaters, will be armed with all premium ticket formats, i.e. 4Dx, Imax, Dolby and D-box, and will kick off showtimes at 5Pm on Thursday. The previous movie, Dragon Ball Super: Broly, over a 6-day MLK holiday stretch in 2019 debuted to 22.3M.

“Do all of you remember the name Red Ribbon Army?” That’s the first of many lines of expository dialogue in “Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero,” the latest animated action-fantasy adaptation-extension of the mega-popular “Dragon Ball” manga comics.
That opening line of voiceover narration also inadvertently prepares viewers for how convoluted the movie soon becomes.
Some tablesetting dialogue explains who the Red Ribbon Army are (bad guys) and why they’re back. The son of the Red Pharmaceutical Company’s founder, Magenta (voiced by Volcano Ota in the Japanese-language version and Charles Martinet in the English dub), wants to take over the world. But soon enough, this fairly straightforward beat-em-up spectacular, which pits heroic aliens against villainous robots, becomes a celebration of “Dragon Ball,” a decades-old anime institution.

This German-Austrian animation aimed at younger children borrows from vaguely familiar sources
Based on a well-known German book for children from 1915, this derivative but adequate animated feature fuses together an assortment of vaguely familiar characters and story tropes. The clever bit is that the film takes ideas from folklore and appears to be inspired by pre-existing intellectual property without infringing it.
For instance, one of the characters that early-adolescent protagonist Pete (voiced by Aleks Le) meets on his way to the moon, where his sister has been taken prisoner, is the Sandman, a traditional figure in northern European mythology and popularised by Eta Hoffmann in the early 19th century. Later on, our heroes get to ride the backs of giant polar bears, remarkably similar to the ones in Philip Pullman’s His Dark Materials book series. Meanwhile, the humans’ guides also include beetles wistfully looking for abducted loved ones that...

Anne (Lillian Gartner) is at that age where she feels it necessary to declare almost every thought that comes into her head. She's particularly fond of making up fantastic stories, and Peter is so fed up of them that he declares he wishes he could send her to the Moon. Then the Moon Man (Drew Sarich) kidnaps her, and he realises that it's his duty as a big brother to get her back.
The fourth animated feature from director Ali Samadi Ahadi (after the Pettersson Und Findus trilogy), Moonbound is based on 1915 German children's book Peterchens Mondfahrt (Little Peter’s Journey To The Moon), by Gerdt Von Bassewitz.

Specialty distributor Shout! Studios has secured all North American rights to ecology-themed Chinese animated feature “The Legend Of Hei.” In a partnership with France’s Play Big, it will give the film a release in the U.S. and Canada.
“The Legend Of Hei” is a heart-warming fantasy about a cat spirit who goes on a journey of self-discovery after its forest home is destroyed by humans. It was directed by Zhang Ping (a.k.a Mtjj), who spent five years adapting the picture from a Flash animation series that he created in 2011 and published online.
The feature had a successful commercial release in China from September last year and earned $48 million at the box office. It subsequently enjoyed festival play at the Guangzhou and Beijing student festivals and at the 2020 edition of Annecy. It recently began a theatrical outing in Japan.
