Diplo has written and produced hits for everyone from Beyoncé to Justin Bieber, Madonna to Britney Spears. That’s in addition to releasing chart-topping music under his own name and through an ever-growing list of collaborative projects with names like Major Lazer, Jack Ü, Silk City and LSD.
But for his next sonic adventure, Diplo, 44, dons a stetson and returns to the rustic landscape of his 2020 release, Diplo Presents Thomas Wesley, Chapter 1: Snake Oil. The sequel, Diplo Presents Thomas Wesley: Chapter 2 — Swamp Savant (out April 28 on Columbia), sees the superstar DJ once more adopt his western persona Thomas Wesley and team up with some of the biggest names in country and hip-hop for a new brand of Americana.
The first single, “Wasted,” features Kodak Black and Zoe Wetzel. The second, “Use Me (Brutal Hearts),” lured Sturgill Simpson (singing as “Johnny Blue Skies”) out of hiding after a five-year absence.

Following a string of releases in 2023 and the announcement of his upcoming album Quest For Fire, Skrillex dropped the single “Don’t Get Too Close” on Monday. The new track features his own vocals (credited as Sonny Moore) and German singer Bibi Bourelly.
The song’s video shows a singing porcupine using Bourelly’s voice and later Skrillex’s voice. “I’m on my PC/I see famous people/I think they’re like mе/So why aren’t we equal?” sings Skrillex. Soon, he’s joined by Bourelly for...

Skrillex continues his collaborative streak with his latest drop, “Xena” with Nai Barghouti, a singer, composer, and flutist from Palestine. The single opens with vocals echoing the Warrior Princess’ famous war cry and melts into a rush of bass and techno as the Palestian singer’s voice commands the track.
Barghouti posted a video on Thursday with Skrillex in the studio while the new track played in the background. “I still remember the very first time we met,” wrote Barghouti. “We shook hands and just kind of knew that something...

Coming in hot. Skrillex has extended his recent streak of collaborative singles with his latest release, “Leave Me Like This,” which recruits Minnesota rapper and singer Bobby Raps to offer an earnest plea for more time.
“Into the shadow/Always break my light and/Please don’t leave me like this/Stay with me ’til the night ends,” the song’s guiding sentiment begs, recurring throughout its pulsing production.
A snippet from “Leave Me Like This” first appeared in a teaser trailer Skrillex shared on social media at the top of the year.

Pop is always a little more interesting when Skrillex is around. The hardcore artist-turned-megaproducer/DJ helped popularize dubstep in the mainstream while also ushering an Edm-forward era of both pop music and rap. But in the last several years, he quietly stepped back from being one of our most prolific stars, popping up sparingly to collaborate with new and old friends.
Fans were ecstatic when he teased new music on New Year’s Day, and he fulfilled his promise just a few days later with “Rumble” featuring Fred Again.. and Flowdan.

Skrillex is back with his first new solo song in just over a year, “Rumble,” which features rising DJ/producer Fred Again.. and grime Mc/producer Flowdan.
“Rumble” lives up to its name, with Flowdan rapping over a steady, propulsive groove punctuated with menacing bass swells. The two-and-half-minute track builds steadily to a clever peak that drops with a deft, almost understated boom.
The official release of “Rumble” comes after Fred Again.. teased it during his Boiler Room debut last summer. The song also dropped a couple of days after...
