The trailer of Murder Mubarak introduces the setting of the crime at the Royal Delhi Club, where a number of high society guests have been invited. The voiceover informs that this space was made by the British, and also served the British.
Now that the British have left, they have left behind some members who are ‘more English’ than them.
By the way, did we mention that the usual suspects include Sara Ali Khan, Vijay Varma, Dimple Kapadia, Karisma Kapoor, Sanjay Kapoor, Tisca Chopra. All of them, at some point are suspected murderers but they all lack any form of remorse. Pankaj Tripathi won’t have it easy detangling this murder mystery, which means there is suspense galore.
The film also stars Suhail Nayyar. The trailer ends with a warning of sorts from Pankaj Tripathi that the most dangerous trait of a murderer could be that they are ordinary.

Have you ever been to a wedding where, right in the middle of the festivities, the lights go off? That’s how it felt at the end of Jee Karda. A wedding, the photogenic Tamannaah Bhatia’s wedding, had just taken place and she was figuring out whether she was fit for spousedom or not when the serial ended abruptly, hoping to keep us hooked until the next season.
While some of the characters do have potential to hop and skip into a second season, others are just plain human embodiments of animalistic selfindulgence. They do what they like. They treat their partners like disposable diapers.
And though the seven friends played by Tamannaah Bhatia, Aashim Gulati, Suhail Nayyar, Anya Singh, Hussain Dalal, Sayan Banerjee, and Samvedna Suwalka , speak endlessly about commitment and honesty in relationships, they seem trapped in a writers’ block.

Sharmaji Namkeen(Amazon Prime Video)
Starring Rishi Kapoor, Paresh Rawail, Juhi Chawla
Directed by Hitesh Bhatia
Whether it is the affable culinary artiste Sharmaji or Rishi Kapoor , the much missed affable actor who plays Sharmaji, life dealt them with such unexpected blows. Rishi left us and this film incomplete . Sharmaji too is at a loose end when suddenly after forced retirement he finds himself looking at yawning stretches of emptiness, punctuated by bouts of exasperated protest against this custom of retirement.
Sharmaji Namkeen is not the first film about retirement blues: Ravi Chopra’s Baghban remains a quasi-classic of the genre. Baghban is referred to at the start of Sharmaji Namkeen by Satish Kaushik who is routinely dependable as Sharmaji’s best buddy.
This is no Amitabh Bachchan. But Hey, Rishi Kapoor bhi kissise kam nahin! The late much-missed actor brings a crackling joie de vivre to the role of...

Passport
U.K. broadcasters Channel 4, ITV, BBC, Stv, UKTV, S4C and Paramount U.K. have teamed to create access and inclusion passports aimed at removing barriers and supporting better inclusion of disabled people and other colleagues at work. The passports, adopted from an initiative introduced at the BBC in 2019, will be confidential and will support conversations with line managers to ensure disabled colleagues and others get the right support they need at work. They will also be transferrable to enable holders to move smoothly across departments and between broadcasters, reducing the need for disabled talent and staff to repeatedly disclose their adjustment needs to each new employer or manager.
Managers will be supported at each organization to help them work with employees and their passports most effectively. The plans will also be introduced into the independent production sector to support disabled freelancers.

Ginny, Sunny and their not so funny misadventure of love sets you wondering within 10 minutes of the start: Why was this film made in the first case? The question plays in your mind on the loop all through the runtime that follows. By the end of it, you realise this was a couple of hours ill-spent.
Watch Ginny Weds Sunny official Trailer

It's all very formula-bound and, like the tired remix of a past-expiry-date Mika song in the film, absolutely unnecessary.
Billed as rom-com with very little ‘rom' and almost no ‘com', Puneet Khanna's debut directorial effort runs low on entertainment quotient right from the start, doing gross disservice to a cast that impressively manages to rise above the unimaginative writing. You feel bad for Yami Gautam and Vikrant Massey, as well as the half dozen-odd prop actors who eagerly try living...

Hasmukh
Starring Vir Das, Ranveer Shorey, Manoj Pawa, Suhail Nayyar, Ravi Kissan
Directed by Nikhil Gonsalves
It’s like Lata Mangeshkar being hired to play a bad singer. It takes a very brilliant actor to play a bad actor. Vir Das, a first-rate stand-up comedian, plays an inept pathetically cheerless stand-up comedian in Hasmukh who needs a strong impetus to make him come alive on stage.
No, a shot of that strong beverage won’t do. Something far more potent…like murder perhaps?
It is a tempting premise for a crime thriller. Something like Sonam Kapoor playing a couture queen who kills to kill it on the ramp. And Vir Das, who really should be seen more often, simply nails it. He is an innocent, virginal wannabe comic virtuoso bullied by his abusive uncle, and sexually molested by his aunt who gropes him while he makes the tea.Chai-ld abuse?...

OTTThe show is about a standup comedian who needs to kill before his shows to get his boost of confidence.Saraswati DatarHasmukh, now streaming on Netflix, has the most clutter-breaking concept I have seen in a long time. What if the only way a man can be fully alive is by killing someone? If your muse is murder, then how far will you go to fulfil your dreams? The 10-part series is created by real-life standup comic Vir Das and Nikkhil Advani and co-produced by Applause Entertainment and Emmay Entertainment for Netflix. Hasmukh Sudiya (Vir Das) is the small-town Cinderella from Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh. An orphan, he lives with his physically abusive uncle and his aunt who sexually harasses him, which rather disturbingly is passed off as humour. Both her need for sex and her harassment of him. Piling on the abuse is Gulati (Manoj Pahwa), Hasmukh’s loathsome...

If you’re unnerved by movies that exploit real-life tragedy for dramatic momentum (22 July, Patriots Day), Hotel Mumbai is not going to alleviate your concerns as terrorists armed with semi-automatics shoot down hotel guests in India like ducks in a barrel. That said, when the Islamist militant group Lashkar-e-Taiba initiated an attack on the city of Mumbai. Many locations were affected, but Maras and Scottish screenwriter John Collee — far from the animated frivolity of Happy Feet — focus on the violence that erupted at the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, a.k.

One decade ago terrorists carried out a series of attacks in Mumbai, leaving 174 people dead and hundreds wounded. The tragedy is now depicted in a new narrative film, directed rather shockingly not by Paul Greengrass, but rather Anthony Maras. Commando 2
Starring Vidyut Jamwal, Freddy Daruwala, Adaah Sharma, Esha Gupta
Directed by Deven Bhojani
After a week of drudgery at the theatres when we were coaxed into wading through a self-designed epic slush on war and love, it is such a welcome relief to go to the theatres just to have a unpretentious good time. No offence meant. None taken.
Come, unwind with Vidyut Jamwal as he cracks some serious bones and Fera codes, brings India’s wealth back into the country and saves civilization from catastrophe. All done in the vein of a comic book hero who forgot his cape in transit.
Okay, Jamwal is ambitious, And sorry to say, he can’t act. He can fight like a wild untamed beast, though. His reflexes in the action scenes, specially in the hand-to-hand combat with actor Thakur Anoop Singh at the climax on the rooftop of skyscraper, are to die for.
