Jim Parsons recently said goodbye to Sheldon Cooper for a second time as Young Sheldon aired its series finale on May 16, but he isn’t entirely closing the door on the beloved character. Speaking with E! News in a recent interview, Parsons was asked what it would take for him to reprise the role of Sheldon. “Reincarnation,” he quipped. “Next lifetime.” However, while the Emmy-winning actor has put Sheldon on the shelf for now, he did say, “Never say never to anything. Life is long, God-willing, but I don’t think so.” Parsons portrayed the quirky theoretical physicist across 12 seasons of The Big Bang Theory from 2007 to 2019, winning four Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series and the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Television Series Musical or Comedy. He went on to serve as narrator for the prequel series Young Sheldon, in which...

Some actors are just born to play specific roles and seeing them portray a range of different characters not only looks startling but appalling. Seeing Jim Parsons playing a role other than Sheldon Cooper from The Big Bang Theory gives a similar feeling. It isn’t that he has been typecast or put into a box, but seeing how perfectly the actor essayed the role of the genius physicist, it is hard to imagine him as anyone other than Sheldon.

How the Role Became Easier Over Time Iain Armitage has grown immensely throughout his time playing Sheldon Cooper. Reflecting on this journey, he mentions how I think it’s just that as I grew up, I knew Sheldon more and more. So, it only got easier. Portraying such an iconic character for seven years influenced how he fell into a rhythm, making the role almost second nature. The Influence of Jim Parsons Iain often speaks highly of Jim Parsons, the original Sheldon Cooper from The Big Bang Theory. He fondly recalls Jim was always just so kind and giving advice. He...

The Big Bang Theory’s no less successful prequel Young Sheldon officially came to its end several days ago, and fans are already eager to know what the franchise’s creators will be up to next.
Though there’s indeed a plan for yet another spinoff show which now will focus on Sheldon Cooper’s brother Georgie and his family, it still doesn’t get as much of a fuss as when it comes to Sheldon’s figure as a whole.
Now that Young Sheldon is surely over, the titular character’s actor is determined to dispel all the doubts about Sheldon’s future on the screen.
Young Sheldon’s finale was pretty much clear about where the adult Sheldon Cooper stands in life after The Big Bang Theory’s ending back in 2019. The prequel set up a sweet reunion of two versions of the character, portrayed by Iain Armitage and Jim Parsons,...

In recent years, there has been a lot of discussion about actors who prefer to put themselves in the shoes of their characters and live their daily lives in preparation for the role. While some consider method acting to be an ingenious way to get a better feel for the character and their circumstances, others consider it an unnecessary farce.
Either way, the stories of such celebrities are usually at least entertaining to read. Sometimes, however, actors accidentally become devotees of the method when their personal lives begin to imitate the art they're making. This is exactly what happened to Young Sheldon's Montana Jordan, who just welcomed his first daughter.
How Old Is Montana Jordan?
Although the actor still looks extremely young, which Young Sheldon has always emphasized, the real-life version of events is much happier and less questionable than the one in the series.

Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, the spinoff of the recently concluded Young Sheldon, which was a spinoff of The Big Bang Theory, is an opportunity for producers to tell new stories involving Georgie Cooper (Montana Jordan) and his wife Mandy (Emily Osment), the older brother and sister-in-law of Sheldon Cooper now that his tales have been chronicled. TV Insider caught up with executive producer/head writer Steve Holland, Jordan, and Osment on the Paramount lot at a press event to kick off the new Fall TV season to preview the CBS sitcom, which will appear both familiar and new to viewers. “There wasn’t a grand plan behind it,” Holland tells us about why the characters of Georgie and Mandy were chosen to be spun off from Young Sheldon. He says the idea came about after the producers, including series creator Chuck Lorre, watched the two actors and saw their delightful chemistry.

Young Sheldon went out with a bang. Or, should we say, a bazinga.
The Big Bang Theory prequel series wrapped things up on Thursday night, and the two-episode finale scored 8.95M viewers, according to live + same-day Nielsen data.
Not only was it the top broadcast of the night, it was also the most-watched episode of Young Sheldon in four years — since the Season 3 finale in April 2020. That episode managed 10.15M same-day viewers.
The finale audience is also pretty significantly above Season 7’s audience average, which is sitting right around 7M viewers per episode. Clearly, audiences were eager to see how things would end.
Streaming on Paramount+ was also up 39% over the week prior and 50% versus a year ago. It marked a season high for Young Sheldon, but Paramount didn’t give more specifics than that.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers Young Sheldon‘s Series Finale Episodes.] Young Sheldon‘s long-awaited Big Bang Theory crossover with Jim Parsons and Mayim Bialik has finally arrived in the series finale, and with it, some answers to previously dropped Easter eggs and more. While the penultimate episode focused on George Sr.’s (Lance Barber) funeral, the finale installment tracked Sheldon through two different periods of his life, in the days leading up to his (Iain Armitage) arrival at Cal-Tech, and a near-future set a few years after The Big Bang Theory in which he’s (Parsons) writing a memoir. As adult Sheldon pieces together memories from that time in the past, his wife Amy (Bialik) pesters him to get ready for their son’s hockey match, which he’s hesitant to attend. But there’s a full-circle moment to it all as Sheldon reflects on his own father and the positive things about him that he’d previously ...

With just four duos left, Season 36 of The Amazing Race is anyone’s for the taking. But who’s got what it takes to leave the other teams in the dirt and snatch that big prize?
The penultimate leg kicks off with a deep dive at Sosua Beach in the Dominican Republic. The first Detour gives them a choice between assembling diving rigs and crafting some tasty cocktails. All four teams choose the cocktails. (Who can blame them? Though I doubt any sampling is allowed on the race. Their loss is the pirates’ gain!). After Ricky and Cesar whip through their drinks,...

Young Sheldon’s fans are surely having quite weird days right now given the bittersweet feeling everybody has about the show’s finale set to be released on May 16.
While it still comes as a tearful event as Young Sheldon’s lovers are approaching the moment when they have to say goodbye to the beloved series, at the same time the final episode is something to be really excited about now that it officially marks Jim Parsons and Mayim Bialik’s first appearance in the prequel.
With all the sweetness of the long-awaited reunion between two versions of the eccentric character, Young Sheldon’s finale still might jeopardize the whole franchise’s reputation even more.
Though nothing so far is clear about how exactly Parsons and Bialik will make their entrance in the prequel, Young Sheldon may still potentially wrap it all up with another big plot hole.

Cancelations suck, and the 2024 season has been particularly brutal.
Long-running favorites such as Station 19, Blue Bloods, and Young Sheldon are going off the air, leaving fans brokenhearted -- and actors out of a steady gig.
Sometimes, actors land a new gig right away, and other times, they struggle to find new work. The cancellations were recently announced, so not everyone has had the opportunity to move on to a new project yet, but there are some interesting things in the works.
Having a Long-Running Series is a Double-Edged Sword
When actors land a gig that lasts for half a decade or more, they're guaranteed work for as long as the series lasts.
That allows them to become household names but also can make it harder for them to get new jobs in the future. For example, Henry Winkler was so associated with The Fonz that when Happy Days ended,...

The Big Bang Theory may have been over for quite some time now, but its legacy keeps living on. By the time of the end of its television run, the original show was substituted with a not less successful sequel expanding Sheldon Cooper’s story and now Young Sheldon, the finale of which is coming out pretty soon, is already picked up by one more spinoff show putting its focus on different characters.
While The Big Bang Theory’s universe keeps growing to its fans’ rejoice, the new series coming straight from Young Sheldon’s storyline may in fact ruin it all if the creators still ignore the preceding show’s biggest flaws.
