This article contains spoilers for all of The Blacklist.
All good things must end. Whether all good things must end well is another matter entirely. The series finale of The Blacklist was rated poorly on IMDb and fans united in assessing it as one of the worst endings to ever close out a series’ run, especially a run as unique and longstanding as The Blacklist’s: 10 years and 218 episodes, an achievement largely unmatched in today’s TV landscape.
That ending of The Blacklist had to be a joke.
May go down as the worst Finale of all time. Literally tied up Zero loose ends. The entire show was rendered pointless. pic.twitter.com/00MoyhY25L

This was a bag of mixed emotions.
First, there were the absolutely exhilarating events that had someone at the edge of their seat as another one of Red's plans came to focus.
Then that feeling was muddled with sadness at the thought that this signals the beginning of the end.
Rarely does an episode invoke multiple feelings since the Elizabeth Keen days, and The Blacklist Season 10 Episode 19 was like a trip to a past you thought you might never experience again.
It was high energy and camp.
From the opening scene when Raymond called everyone to the Post Office to his carefully curated diction in pointing the Task Force in the right direction until he put the hat on and walked out majestically, it promised a great time.
There was a remarkable similarity between this episode and Morgan Logistics Corporation.
The main thing was that they were Raymond's attempt at shutting down his empire.

Raymond Reddington (James Spader) may have lived longer than he hoped and have little left to lose, but he makes it clear in “The Hyena” that he is done with fear, pain, and regret. At the moment of his death, Red just wants to feel alive–a melding of opposites that only a man like Red can forge.

A decade later, NBC's "The Blacklist" continues to rally audiences behind the morally gray antics of a criminal mastermind. The drama series stars James Spader as Raymond "Red" Reddington, a government agent-turned-fugitive that assists the FBI and profiler Elizabeth Keen (Megan Boone) in crossing off the names on his titular list of criminals. No stranger to the TV world, Spader's inspired performance as Reddington is a consistent highlight of the series on a weekly basis. It's safe to say that the series heavily relies on him, especially now more than ever with the absence of Elizabeth Keen. However, he is an even more important part of "The Blacklist" than previously imagined.
In 2013, "The Blacklist" was a sure-fire success before it hit the NBC television channel. After the pilot had been screened to test audiences, the higher-ups at the network bragged about it, revealing to the public that it was...

After almost a decade on the air, NBC's "The Blacklist" is still going strong. Despite the fact longtime co-star Megan Boone exited the series in 2021, the series is set to return for season 10 in 2023. James Spader continues to bring life into "The Blacklist" with his acting as Raymond Reddington, and not even that weird live-action/animation hybrid episode that aired near the start of the pandemic could bury the show. Nevertheless, the combination of Boone's Elizabeth Keen and Spader's criminal mastermind always made for quality television. The biggest role in Boone's career thus far, the task was almost too big to handle before she got some much-needed advice from her colleague.
"The Blacklist" is best known for Spader's eccentric and memorable performance, but Boone was always a vital part of the series prior to her departure. Elizabeth Keen's perspective typically grounded the very morally gray activities Reddington was involved in,...

Based on the BAFTA-winning British show, the drama opens in a courtroom with a defendant being accused of a crime, then backtracks to reveal how these people got caught up in the extraordinary situations in which they find themselves. Boone will appear in an installment directed by Marlee Matlin, about a Deaf woman (Switched at Birth‘s Stephanie Nogueras) who becomes a surrogate for a couple (played by Boone and Killjoys’ Aaron Ashmore) and then commits...

This article contains spoilers for The Blacklist through season 9.
For nine seasons, The Blacklist has offered fans a panoramic view of the intersections between science and fiction. Paying attention to these blurred lines is not an attempt to poke holes in the episodes or to reclassify the show’s genre: The Blacklist is a fictional crime drama without question…and that means there is room to play with reality.
For nearly a decade, the show has kept viewers shrouded in a veil of confused mystery on multiple fronts: what was the nature of Red’s relationship with Elizabeth, who is Red really and where in the world is Katarina Rostova? It seems a blurry lens is the eyewear-of-choice for the writers to impart on the audience. Yet, it is in these murky sci-fi plotlines where we can begin to get cozy with the location of truth and unanswered questions on The Blacklist…...

Exclusive: The Blacklist is saying farewell to two series regulars, including one of NBC drama’s longest-serving cast members, Amir Arison. The actor, who has portrayed Aram Mojtabi for the past nine seasons, is leaving as he is preparing to make his Broadway debut this summer in the starring role of Amir in The Kite Runner.
Also departing is Laura Sohn, who has portrayed FBI agent Alina Park for the past three seasons. Both characters’ exits were revealed at the end of tonight’s Season 9 finale.
While Arison is leaving as a series regular, the door remains open for him to make guest appearances in Season 10. His departure comes a year after another major Blacklist cast exit in the Season 8 finale when original female lead Megan Boone signed off.
“I have been so honored to play Aram Mojtabai for 9 years on The Blacklist,” Arison said in a statement to Deadline.

Actress Diany Rodriguez can be seen in two wildly different roles this month.
Rodriguez is best known as Weecha, the new, no-nonsense bodyguard for Raymond “Red” Reddington on NBC's The Blacklist.
She also appears in the Netflix rom-com The Valet, where she portrays Natalie, a bike-shop owner and community activist fighting gentrification. This role, Rodriguez says, is closest to herself of any that she has played.
Rodriguez took time out recently to talk in an exclusive interview with TV Fanatic about those two roles, as well as her transition from theater to film and her community activism.
Her transformation to Weecha was a quick one, as she earned the role within four days of her audition.
Weecha and her healer sister, Mierce, nursed Red to health during the two years he was missing following Elizabeth Keen's murder in The Blacklist Season 8.

Red will continue to scheme on NBC for another season.
James Spader confirmed during an appearance on The Tonight Show that The Blacklist has been renewed for Season 10.
The news is a bit surprising because many figured The Blacklist Season 9 would be the end of the line, but the series has managed to revitalize itself with a string of creative changes.
Season-to-date, the drama is pulling in an average audience of 5.1 million total viewers, as well as a solid 0.6 rating in the demo in live+7 numbers.
The show is steady vs. last season, which is a major positive in today's TV landscape.
While ranks #9 out of 10 NBC dramas, it benefits from being a well-known brand internationally.
The official synopsis for the current season teases that “in the two years following the death of Elizabeth Keen, Raymond Reddington and the members of the FBI Task Force have disbanded — their lives now...

Maybe hope remains for The Blacklist.
An intriguing new direction began on The Blacklist Season 9 Episode 2.
Many asked why when NBC renewed the series even after Tptb announced that Megan Boone (and her character Elizabeth Keen) would be leaving at the end of The Blacklist Season 8.
But let's not pretend that Elizabeth played the critical role that she once did earlier in the series. Instead, discontented Liz was the sour taste in too many viewers' mouths.
In other words, while Red may have been dying, Liz's reason for being on the show had long ago expired. So it was appropriate that she finally did on The Blacklist Season 8 Episode 22.
And, even amid a race to save a family from a vicious crime lord, things seem a bit lighter now. Everyone appears on the same page, more than ever before.
But let's not pretend that Red doesn't have his own game going.

After the shocking death of The Blacklist’s Elizabeth Keen (Megan Boone) in the Season 8 finale, the Season 9 premiere took the show in a new direction, catching up with James Spader’s Raymond Reddington two years after the death of Liz. Liz was on the run for most of the show’s eighth season, so viewers may have gotten used to her absence upon the show’s return. Still, her death was a shocking one, as she couldn’t go through with killing Red as he asked her (so that she could take over the Blacklist). As she struggled with shooting him, she was shot in the back by an unknown assailant. Red managed to track down and kill the culprit before holding Liz in his arms as her life flashed before her eyes. After kissing her on the forehead as she passed, he ran off into hiding, which is...

It appears that the Blacklist Task Force can carry on without Elizabeth Keen.
That's not to say that Liz's ghost didn't haunt The Blacklist Season 9 Episode 1.
It was wise to jump ahead two years after Elizabeth was gunned down on The Blacklist Season 8 Episode 22.
It also felt natural that everyone had gone their separate ways and that the task force had fallen apart as a result.
The fun part was discovering what each person was now doing.
My favorite was Dembe becoming an FBI agent. Let's face it. He was wasted as Red's bodyguard. Now he was using those skills for good.
Harold had to have pulled some strings for that to have happened. How else does a grandfather with a criminal record get to join the FBI?
Sadly, some things never change, as Dembe received severe burns due to an undercover op gone bad.
The upside is that everyone would rally around Dembe,...

The season finale of The Blacklist was a game-changing affair.
It lifted the lid on some of the biggest questions fans have had since The Blacklist Season 1 Episode 1 and said goodbye to Megan Boone's Liz Keene.
While the installment aired, Boone took to social media to say goodbye to the series.
"This experience, for me, has been an entire life inside of my own life,” she began, alongside a photo of her and costar James Spader in character.
“These eight years playing Liz Keen have helped me better define the world and myself, as she set out to do the same."
"Liz sought incorruptible familial bonds, and collided with powerful forces to reveal the boundaries where a cruel, indifferent world ended and she began.”
She added that “as her story ends, I am grateful, most of all for the people I shared this time with: my fellow cast members present and past,...

Well, that took a turn.
Viewers said goodbye to Megan Boone's Elizabeth Keen on The Blacklist Season 8 Episode 22.
A comfortable retirement in a non-extradition country just wasn't in the cards for Liz. That wouldn't be a very Blacklist kind of departure anyway.
Nope, with her future nearly assured, Liz instead appeared to go down the hard way.
I say appeared because even though she seemed to be bleeding out at the end, characters don't always stay dead on The Blacklist.
Unless there's an open-casket funeral to open The Blacklist Season 9, nothing is set in stone.
The best part about Liz's final (for now) episode was that viewers got back the Elizabeth Keen who was likable, not the ingrate Liz who was enthralled by the fake Katarina and turned against Raymond for the past couple of seasons.
At least the Red-Liz dynamic was restored if only for an episode. And Liz got most,...

Megan Boone is leaving “The Blacklist” at the end of the NBC drama’s currently airing eighth season, TheWrap has learned. Boone has starred on the series as FBI agent Elizabeth “Liz” Keen alongside James Spader as criminal mastermind Raymond “Red” Reddington since the show premiered in 2013.
According to Deadline, which first reported that Boone is leaving the show, Boone’s exit — a mutual decision between the actress and producers — has been in the works since before “The Blacklist” was renewed for Season 9 in January, giving the writers time to plot out the end of Liz’s storyline in next week’s Season 8 finale.
Along with Boone and Spader, “The Blacklist” also stars Diego Klattenhoff, Amir Arison, Hisham Tawfiq, Laura Sohn and Harry Lennix.
John Eisendrath, Jon Bokenkamp, John Davis and John Fox of Davis Entertainment, James Spader, Lukas Reiter, Laura A. Benson, Daniel Cerone and Sean Hennen serve as executive producers.
