La'Porsha Renae quickly became an American sweetheart, after appearing on the 15th and final season of
American Idol (2002). Captivating the audience with heart-wrenching performances of records, such as "No More Drama" (
Mary J. Blige), "Ready for Love" (
India Arie) and "Diamonds" (
Rihanna), La'Porsha quickly grabbed the attention of not only the American Idol judges, but also the millions of viewers at home. Despite becoming the season's runner-up, music business onlookers quickly recognized La'Porsha's God-given star quality and she was immediately offered a recording contract with 19 Recordings/Motown Records.
Since American Idol, La'Porsha has been recording her debut album, while her Idol finale original track- "Battles" aided as the soundtrack for the U.S. Women's Olympic Gymnastics team during the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio.
