Valeria Perez-Pliego

Valeria was born in San Pedro Garza Garcia, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. Since a young age, she has been attracted to Performing Arts, including: dancing, singing, painting, modeling and acting.
She is living in San Antonio, TX; studying High School at Performing Arts Magnet School NESA (North East School of Arts), as well as other private singing, dancing and acting training programs.
She started professionally on TV doing more than a 100 shows for kids (Zona 7 in TV Azteca & TV Kidz in Televisa).
Theatre: In 2010, Valeria was invited to participate in her first musical "The Sound of Music" playing the role of Marta Von Trapp. This outstanding experience convinced Valeria to focus her talents and time on musical theater. Then, after this experience, she has participated in several other musicals like: "Give my Regards to Broadway" in which Valeria played the role of one of the Mob Gangsters, Mugsy (This was the first time that Valeria played a role in English.) Her first professional musical "The Ultimate Gift" performing the main role of Emily, a rebellious, spontaneous, leukemia-stricken girl. The play was well received and Valeria's performance stood out, as you can read in El Norte (main newspaper of Monterrey, MX). Translated from below, the paper reads: "...the most outstanding performance was Valeria Perez-Pliego acting as Emily, a key girl in the life of Jason...the freshness and spontaneity of the little actress Valeria moving though out the stage, broke the stiffness of some of the other actors..." She performed the musical "Moby Dick" as the role of "Tashtego" in "Long Lake Camp for the Performing Arts" at New York. "Night at the Wax Museum" was performed at PASA (Performing Arts San Antonio) playing the role of Violet Sneed, the inherent evil landlady owner of the museum. She participated in "The Count of Monte Cristo" produced by PASA (Performing Arts San Antonio). Valeria was selected to perform the leading role of "The Death" in the musical play "Blood Wedding" of Federico Garcia Lorca, produced by NESA (North East School of the Arts). In the same school, she participated in: "Smokey Joe's Cafe" & "Mary Poppins" as well. "Shrek The Musical" as Little Bear and "RENT" were other participations at The Woodlawn Theatre.
Film: Her first film was in a local version of the movie "Lolita" (Vladimir Nabokov) in the role of Annabel Leigh.
Radio: On the summer of 2013 she auditioned to do a Radio Ad Promo for the largest supermarket in Texas and she was selected to do the Spanish and English version. The promo was released on the summer for the next school period.
Modeling, Acting & Singing Contests: In September 2013 Valeria was invited to participate at Passport to Discovery, an international premier modeling and acting-scouting event held inside of a 7 day exclusive by invitation only Caribbean Cruise. Contestants compete in a variety of competitions to showcase their talents in modeling, acting, singing and dance. At this event, Valeria won the First Place in ALL competitions at her Age Division, receiving more than 38 call-backs from Talent Managers. As the main winner at PTD, she was invited to perform at closing ceremony: Toy Story 2 hit "When She Loved Me", in a mixed Valeria's edition between English and Spanish.
She received the next Awards: Jose M. Lopez Middle School at San Antonio, TX o May 2014 - Recognized for Outstanding Performance and Merit for: UIL Speech, Drama, TMEZ Region 12 Choir, Choir UIL, and Outstanding Award in Drama. o May 2013: 7th Grade Theater Merit Award o May 2013: District Speech Contest Outstanding Performer First Place o Dec 2012: District Speech Contest Outstanding Performer First Place 2012 - Current: Member of the National Junior Forensic League on Theatre
