Marvel’s X-Men ‘97 has been receiving rave reviews ever since it began airing. The show is a revival of the popular ‘90s show X-Men: The Animated Series, with many of the original voice actors returning. The show was created by Beau DeMayo, who was fired from the series a few weeks before its airing.
While no proper reason has been given for his dismissal, DeMayo took to social media to address questions regarding the show and reveal trivia. He reportedly mentioned that the show was partly based on the first script he had ever written, which was a fan-fiction sequel to Hugh Jackman’s X-Men.

How many of us still enjoy the good times we had on weekend mornings when we poured a bowl of cereal and turned on Fox Kids to see what Wolverine, Cyclops, Storm, and the gang were up to? Well, fans are left feeling nostalgic as the first two episodes of Kevin Feige’s latest X-Men ‘97 brought back iconic characters like Jean Grey and Cyclops. Disney Plus finally started airing the much-awaited animated series a few hours ago.
What has surprised fans the most, though, is that maybe Kevin Feige—the man behind the Marvel Cinematic Universe—has actually persuaded them that Cyclops will be the next big thing in the franchise. Despite being the founding member of the X-Men, the character was given little screen time in earlier X-Men adaptations.

Charlie Kaufman‘s work normally provides for some very dynamic and interesting visuals. However, he has only dipped his toe into an animated feature film only once before with the stop-motion animated movie Anomalisa. Now, the writer of such films as Being John Malkovich and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind looks to be trying his hand at a traditional family-friendly animated comedy with Orion and the Dark. Sean Charmatz is in the director’s chair. Netflix has just released the trailer.
The official synopsis from Netflix reads,
“Orion seems a lot like your average elementary school kid –– shy, unassuming, harboring a secret crush. Charlie Kaufman is bringing more neuroses to Netflix, this time with an animated twist.
The “Adaptation” screenwriter penned the adaptation of YA novel “Orion and the Dark” for the streaming platform. Jacob Tremblay voices the title character Orion, who is an anxiety-ridden elementary schooler trying to get over his fear of the dark. Turns out, the Dark is actually a physical entity (Paul Walter Hauser) who brings Orion on an adventure to confront his fears, ranging from clowns, fireworks, and ghouls.
“Orion, I’m going to get you to overcome your fears if it kills me,” the Dark says in the trailer.
Angela Bassett, Colin Hanks, Natasia Demetriou, Golda Rosheuvel, Nat Faxon, Aparna Nancherla, Ike Barinholtz, Carla Gugino, Matt Dellapina, Nick Kishiyama, Mia Akemi Brown, Shannon Chan-Kent, and Jack Fisher also star. Werner Herzog narrates the film.
Animator Sean Charmatz marks his feature directorial debut with the DreamWorks and Netflix film.

Photo: 'Kid Cosmic'/Netflix In the world of animation, the name Craig McCracken is easily one of the more prestigious ones. Having gotten his start working on ‘Dexter’s Laboratory’, the animator would go on to create ‘The Powerpuff Girls’: a smash hit for Cartoon Network and easily one of the best and most iconic animated shows ever made. He followed that up with the delightful ‘Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends’ and the short-lived yet underrated (in my friends’ opinion) ‘Wander Over Yonder’. His latest project, the Netflix original animated series ‘Kid Cosmic’, marks McCracken’s return to the superhero genre as well as his first serialized show. While it doesn’t hit the same heights as ‘The Powerpuff Girls’ for now, ‘Kid Cosmic’ still delivers a fun ride with great animation, an entertaining cast of characters, and strong humor. You Season 3 has found Joe's latest obsession.
Per Deadline, Michaela McManus has boarded the third season of the Netflix hit in the role of Natalie, Joe's married neighbor.
If you watch You online, you know Joe set Natalie as his next obsession at the close of You Season 2.
Natalie is professionally and socially successful (which seems to be the norm on this series!), but Joe knows there is more to her than meets the eye, and that explains his decision to pursue her.
Joe has always been intrigued by women who are not who they appear to be. Case in point: Love Quinn, who later emerged as a merciless killer, much like Joe.
But Joe is bonded with Love in that they both created a baby, and thus, have moved to a suburban neighborhood.
Saffron Burrows, who plays Love's mother, has been upped to a series regular ahead of the third season.
