The inevitable has happened. For the first time, a TikTok dancer will appear on Dancing with the Stars. And yes, of course, it’s Charli D’Amelio.
The 18-year-old star, who has been described as the “queen of TikTok,” will vie for the Mirrorball Trophy during the 31st season of the long-running competition series. To earn the top prize, D’Amelio will have to out-dance a slew of other contestants, including a member of her own family. Heidi D’Amelio, Charli’s mother, will also be part of the season 31 cast. Rather than serving as her daughter’s dance partner, Heidi will go up against her. Good luck, mom!
The younger D’Amelio will add her name to the list of internet personalities who have competed on DWTS. Other members of that group include YouTube fashionista Bethany Mota, one-time Vine star Hayes Grier, acrobatic violinist Lindsey Stirling, and YouTube standout Jojo Siwa.

Remember when Vine was all the rage? People could get online and post videos that lasted approximately six seconds before they were done? It was TikTok before TikTok existed, and it was the start of a major craze. Kids were growing huge audiences and large numbers of followers on the app, ad it was a raging success. However, the app is now defunct, and it seems that those who used it before it was shut down and made their way to other apps, and they’ve found other ways to have their fans follow them. TikTok stars are all the rage

In what could serve as a cautionary tale for influencers faced with choosing the right representation, social star Hayes Grier has filed suit against his former manager for allegedly stealing a $45,000 Cartier bracelet.
Grier claims that he asked Griffin Hadley, who formerly served as his legal guardian, to purchase the item using his credit card while he was on a photoshoot for Taco Bell in Barcelona.. In the suit, according to TMZ, Grier claims that Hadley kept the bracelet for himself -- mailing it to his home back in the states.
Grier has been attempting to get the bracelet back for the past two years, per TMZ, and so now he's suing Hadley -- and also ask for undisclosed damages.

Age is just a number, and Milo Manheim might prove that adage true again. The 17-year-old is one of the frontrunners to win “Dancing with the Stars” and would in turn become the show’s youngest male champ ever.
The “Zombies” star, who has the second highest average score this season, would break the record currently held by Jordan Fisher, then 23 when he took home the Mirrorball trophy in Season 25. Fisher had ended the 21-season, 10-and-a-half-year reign of Apolo Anton Ohno, who won Season 4 on his 25th birthday.

Go90 is officially being eighty-sixed.
Verizon’s Go90 free, ad-supported mobile video service — launched nearly three years ago — will cease on July 31. The Go90 app, stocked with a mix of short-form original entertainment, live sports, and licensed TV shows, was never able to attract any kind of sizable audience and as a result struggled to book advertising dollars.
As an attempt to build an mobile entertainment brand from scratch, Go90 failed because Verizon arguably didn’t effectively market the millennial-targeted service. Go90’s operations have already been combined into Oath, the division that merged AOL and Yahoo.
“Following the creation of Oath, Go90 will be discontinued,” a Verizon rep said in a statement. “Verizon will focus on building its digital-first brands at scale in sports, finance, news and entertainment for today’s mobile consumers and tomorrow’s 5G applications.”

This spring “Dancing with the Stars” fans have had to settle for less: a mini-season lasting only four weeks featuring an all-athlete roster of celebrities. That event comes to an end on May 21, but if viewers are feeling shortchanged by the drastically shortened competition, ABC is making it up to them this fall. Instead of getting half as much “DWTS” as we were expecting, we’re about to get twice as much. “DWTS” returns for season 27 in its usual Monday night time slot. And the long-awaited “Junior” edition of the series finally gets underway, airing on Sunday nights.
“DWTS: Junior” will be a slightly different format from the original recipe. It will run for a full season of 10 weeks, but episodes will be an hour long, instead of two hours like the flagship series. And to accommodate the schedules of its younger contestants it will be pre-taped, whereas the flagship airs live.

Harley Morenstein is steering the Famous Food Truck into town. The man known as the co-founder of the Epic Meal Time YouTube channel is the star of the latest special from Scripps Lifestyle Studios' Genius Kitchen brand, in which he puts together some breakfast sandwiches alongside social media star Hayes Grier.
The Famous Food Truck of the special's title doesn't seem to refer to a world-renowned mobile restaurant, but rather to a roving kitchen that happens to have famous people inside it. Morenstein's signature touches, including his love of bacon and his tendency to bleep out curse words with wacky sound effects, are all present here, and his bold attitude drives the special, no pun intended. That said, the vibe is very easygoing, with Morenstein, Grier, and chef Lindsay Ames presiding over a loose, fun-loving culinary atmosphere.

Several prominent members of the YouTube community -- including Just Between Us, h3h3productions, and Hayes Grier -- have activated their followers in recent weeks to raise money for those impacted by Hurricane Harvey. (H3h3productions for instance, has raised a whopping $208,000 and counting for Direct Relief).
The latest channel to add to these efforts is Austin-based production outfit Rooster Teeth, which has launched a GoFundMe campaign for its neighbors in the east who have been left ravaged in Harvey's wake. The campaign, benefiting the Houston Food Bank, was launched on Sept. 1 and has already raised $41,000 of its $100,000 goal -- from a total of more than 1,300 donors.

Violinist and YouTube superstar Lindsey Stirling may soon be trying her hand at ballroom dancing.
The 30-year-old, who counts a staggering 9.7 million subscribers and 2 billion lifetime views on her YouTube channel, is reportedly joining the 25th season of the hit ABC competition series Dancing With The Stars, according to Us Weekly. The pro dancer with whom Stirling will partner has yet to be announced.
This isn’t the first time that Stirling -- who also performs choreography while playing violin -- has appeared on a reality show: she was a quarter finalist on season five of America’s Got Talent in 2010. She’s also not the first celebrity from the digital realm to appear on Dancing With The Stars. In 2014, lifestyle vlogger Bethany Mota appeared on the 19th season of the show -- finishing fourth -- while Vine star Hayes Grier joined season 21 the following year, and was eliminated during week seven.

Did you think that Clueless was only valuable to the generation of 90s kids who grew up on it? As if!
The 1995 film, which starred Alicia Silverstone as a popular, superficial teenager and launched a trend of colorful, patterned fashion choices, has returned thanks to the latest project from Episode, an app that creates interactive series for its young, mobile users.
Episode's contribution to the Clueless universe is titled Clueless: School's Out. It gives players the ability to interact with the film's heroines, with dialogue decisions opening up specific pieces of content. The show must go on.
After Tamar Braxton withdrew from season 21 of Dancing with the Stars earlier this week because of blood clots in her lungs, the ABC reality dance competition's producers looked "at all possibilities" (including bringing back recently eliminated star Alexa PenaVega), but ultimately it was decided only the remaining four couples will compete on Monday's episode, People can reveal exclusively.
To fill the time that had been slotted for Braxton's performances, the semi-finalists will dance head-to-head in a competition that was just added to the lineup for Monday.

Is it time to take singer Andy Grammer seriously as a contender on "Dancing With the Stars"? Early on this season he was mostly a middle-of-the-pack performer, but after two weeks in a row with perfect-scoring routines, should we start moving him up in our predictions for the mirror ball trophy? -Break- 'DWTS': Hayes Grier eliminated in Halloween special, but Bindi Irwin scary good Musicians often do well on "DWTS," but unlike this season's Backstreet Boys member Nick Carter and past champs Drew Lachey and Nicole Scherzinger, dancing isn't a big part of Grammer's act. But on "Famous Dances" night he excelled with a "Singin' in the Rain"-inspired jazz routine. Gene Kelly is a tough act to follow, but Grammer earned a perfect 40 out of 40 from the judges. Tonight's show was scary, sexy, scary sexy, sexy scary, and also hilarious. And fog-filled. There was a lot of fog! With the help of a terrifying clown mask, some freaky colored contact lenses and a weirdly erotic sound bite from Julianne Hough, Monday’s episode of Dancing With the Stars succeeded in being scary.
