Born in Turin, Maria Politano was raised in Fano, a beautiful Marche town on the Adriatic coast. She's an actor, writer, and producer. In 2015, she released her first short films: "Contrail" and "Nothing Personal." Both were selected by several film festivals.
Maria has a Masters in Philosophy from the University of Bologna, and a Masters in Educational Theatre from NYU. She's written about Italian cinema for America Oggi, worked for N.I.C.E. New Italian Cinema Event, and curated the 50th anniversary photo exhibition of Luchino Visconti's "The Leopard," at Casa Italiana NYU.
She's studied and acted at The Barrow Group and the Atlantic Theater Company. Acting workshops include "Staging Non-Traditional Text" with The Civilians, and "Embodying Shakespeare" with RSC (BAM Master Classes); "Shakespeare into the Woods" and "Shrew or Not Shrew" (Globe Theatre); and ongoing Studio Practice taught by Austin Pendleton (HB Studio).
Currently (2018), Maria is working on two feature documentaries, and developing her third short film..
