Sylvain Pelissier is a French director and screenwriter born in Martigues on May 29, 1979.
Born of a Sicilian mother and a French father, Sylvain Pelissier is passionate about screenplays and films from an early age, he is marked by genre cinema, from fantasy to science fiction, through horror and thriller, a vast complex which will become his field of predilection 1. After a voluntary engagement of 5 years in the army, he prepares his reconversion in the civilian world and discovers through a friend, his first editing software video, he is won over. Self-taught, he began to learn the basic techniques, to edit his first amateur films. In 2009, he trained at the Image and Sound Workshops in Marseille and obtained his audiovisual professional training certificate.
In 2010 he wrote and directed his first short film "Night Terror", selected in festivals and awarded the Grand Prix du public for the short program "Add short Meaning" in Paris.
In 2013 he wrote and directed his pilot short film "Backlash", a detective thriller which will be screened at the multiplex cinema le palace in Martigues and receives a very good reception from the public2.
In 2015 he wrote and co-directed his short film "Verset Criminel" on the theme of schizophrenia immersed in a gangster film with the participation of actor Moussa Maskri and presented Cannes Film Festival Short Film Corner3.
In 2016 he writes and directs Lily 4. of a fantastic genre, whose subject deals with an unavoidable social problem, the mistreatment of the elderly and people with reduced mobility, his short film Lily is presented, for a first public screening at the Loho auditorium in Cannes and presented at the Cannes Film Festival, his short film was selected at 28 international festivals and won 4 jury prizes in Los Angeles and the IFFF Cinéfantasy Award in Brazil.
