Before Michael Jackson was a pop star in his own right, millions of Americans knew him as the lead vocalist on The Jackson 5’s “ABC.” The tune made history because of its title. Jackson released two other songs that made history for the exact same reason.
The Jackson 5’s ‘ABC’ is tied for the No. 1 single with the shortest title
Many companies measure the success of popular songs but Billboard is the most famous. When people say a song is “a No. 1 hit,” they are likely saying that the song reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. With The Jackson 5 and as a solo artist, Jackson was no stranger to success on the Billboard Hot 100.
Several songs are tied for having the shortest title on the Billboard Hot 100. They all have three characters in their names. Those songs include The Jackson 5’s “ABC,” Frankie Avalon’s “Why,” Edwin Starr’s “War,...

It’s opening night of Daniel Seavey’s first solo tour and he’s leaning back on a couch at the House of Blues in San Diego, fine-tuning his guitar. He has to go onstage in just a few minutes, yet he’s showing no signs of pre-show jitters. Instead, he’s totally relaxed and laid-back. “I’m nervous about the fact that I’m not nervous,” he says with a laugh, putting his guitar down. “I should be thinking harder about what I’m going to say and do.

Daniel Seavey Is Finally ‘Digging Into Who I Truly Am’ With First Single Since Why Don’t We’s Hiatus
All on his own. Daniel Seavey is ready to showcase his impeccable production skills, stellar vocals, and personal artistry in his music as a solo artist — and “Can We Pretend That We’re Good?” is the first official taste of what’s to come for the former Why Don’t We member.
“‘Can We Pretend That We’re Good?’ defines me,” Seavey tells Rolling Stone about the new song. “From the sound to the lyrics, it felt like the best representation of who I am and where I am going as my own artist.

“American Idol” auditions continued with the second episode of Season 20 on Sunday, March 6. Nine talented artists earned golden tickets to Hollywood, with Kenedi Anderson securing the second coveted Platinum Ticket (Huntergirl received the first in Episode 1). But was Kenedi the best of the night? And did these aspiring stars choose the right songs? Below I rank each hopeful from the least impressive (but with room to grow) to a Season 20 frontrunner. I also throw in a song suggestion or artist I’d love to hear them cover.
But first, I want to give props to that Nashville tour Luke Bryan gave host Ryan Seacrest and his fellow judges Katy Perry and Lionel Richie. What a fun moment! And even more kudos for the cheese song by Luke and Katy. Sounds like a hit to me! Both were big episode highlights outside of actual auditions. But enough about the judges, let...

U.S. boy band Why Don't We is accusing one of its managers for allegedly mistreating the band members as teens, saying he allegedly kept them prisoner and restricted their food to the point that some developed eating disorders. On Thursday, Sept. 9, the group, which formed in 2016 and is made up of Jack Avery, Corbyn Besson, Zach Herron, Jonah Marais and Daniel Seavey, released a scathing statement on Instagram. "Without a doubt, publicly sharing our truth makes us feel more vulnerable," they said. "However, it is a step we are forced to take to provide the world with access to the harsh 'behind the scenes' that we endured as young teens where verbal abuse, malnourishment, and...

Why Don't We are taking control. The boy band comprising Zach Herron, Jack Avery, Daniel Seavey, Corbyn Besson and Jonah Marais released The Good Times and the Bad Ones, their second studio album, on Jan. 15. And as they told E! News exclusively, the creation of the project saw them step into some new territory. "This album is our baby," Corbyn said. "We worked on this album on our last tour and throughout the quarantine. It's full of stories and emotions from that span of time, which is new for us because we've never actually fully written and fully produced anything that we've put out before up until now. So this album feels like a really big step for us, and for our fans too. They've...

Los Angeles boy band Why Don’t We talked about their decision to cover a song by rapper Juice Wrld on this week’s edition of Spotify Under Cover. The pop group’s rendition of “Lucid Dreams” is a simplified acoustic version — they harmonized and slowed down the tempo for a gentler sound. They also stripped the original of its trap drums, but kept the piano sample of Sting’s “Shape of My Heart.”

With the first round of American Idol's final Hollywood Week out of the way and the field of 190 golden ticket recipients cut roughly in half, it's time for the remaining contenders to team up with other singers who will compliment their talents or, more likely, make them seem amazing or terrible by comparison.
Cool kids pair up with other cool kids, outcasts seek out other outcasts, and the awkward, arrogant and bitchy end up with whatever group is one person short of the minimum. (Hey Daniel Seavey, seat's taken!) That's right, folks, it's the group round. Ding ding ding!

A good American Idol finale is kind of like the Fountain of Youth — and that’s not only a reference to 43-year-old Ricky Martin, 45-year-old J.Lo and 44-year-old Jordan Knight taking the stage and looking like they halted the aging process back in the late ’90s.

Nick or Clark? Clark or Nick? Who will be crowned our 14th and penultimate "American Idol" winner? And why must it take 126 minutes to find out? When "American Idol" was a colossus straddling the TV landscape, this sort of bloated spectacle wasn't just justified, it was practically necessary for Fox. Milk every blessed second out of "American Idol"! But Tuesday night's performance finale lost to "Undateable" in the 18-49 demo. That's a bit sad.
