Elizabeth Baldwin Knight
Elizabeth Baldwin Knight was BORN to write. With a journalist mother and aspiring-writer, Dartmouth-grad father, "Liz" first proved English excellence was in her blood by graduating Summa Cum Laude from the University of Alabama. As an official court reporter for the Los Angeles Courts, she was chosen to pen the Los Angeles Court Reporters Format Guide for the entire L.A. court system. Her professor from a "Film as Literature" class honored Liz when he asked permission to keep her written movie critique assignments because they were so outstanding and insightful into film as an art form.
Liz assisted her husband, Steven Wayne Knight, in his Master's thesis and his eight nonfiction historical works where he was co-author with others.
After creating the treatment for "Horace Bell," Steve and Liz traveled throughout Southern California photographing relevant historical sites for the script. They compiled many large three-ring binders for the future movie. On over 25 trips to Mexico, Liz continued to assist Steve in gathering research for his novels on Horace Bell's life. Together they have accumulated several awards for the screenplay. It has been an amazing journey. Rewrite after rewrite. As Liz spoke to the crowd at the 2017 LAIFFA awards at L.A. Raleigh Studios, she expressed final words from her heart: "Thank you, Steve, for giving me a story worth writing and telling!"
