Mike and Rochelle's cab struggle was real on The Amazing Race finale -- and you didn't see any of it. After the couple let their cab leave when they were dropped off at At&T Stadium, they found another one that, as we saw, ran out of gas en route to P2 Ranch. What you didn't see, though, were the

After five continents, 35,000 miles and a dozen legs, Season 26 of "The Amazing Race" came to a close Friday night. But who won: one of the three Blind Date pairings -- Blair and Hayley, Jelani and Jenny and Tyler and Laura -- or the last long-term couple standing, Rochelle and Mike? And did You predict the results? -Break- See our users' exclusive predictions of the 'American Idol' finale As you can see, 41% of our users did. They pegged TeamSoCal -- Tyler and Laura -- to be the first across the finish line. Indeed, this temporary twosome had topped our predictions for all but one of the 12 weeks. We underestimated the legal eagles, Jelani and Jenny, who ended up as the season's runner-ups. We had pegged them to be in a fight for fourth with Rochelle and Mike, who ended up being eliminated midway through the last leg. And we...

Man, I feel sorry for Phil Keoghan. All he wanted to do was help two nice people find love and CBS forced him to conduct an "Amazing Race" season around it and then nobody found love and he's stuck giving away a million bucks to two people who probably will never speak again. I kid. Phil Keoghan loves "The Amazing Race" and I have no doubt that given a choice between traveling around the world twice per year as "Race" host and hosting a dating show, he'd never host the dating show in a million years. But either he really, really, really wanted to validate the premise of this "Amazing Race" Blind-Dating season or some of the producers really, really, really wanted him to validate the premise of this "Amazing Race" Blind-Dating season. That mean that in Friday (May 15) night's "Amazing Race" finale, Phil was stuck saying things like, "Any...

It seems everything is bigger in Texas, including Friday’s season finale of The Amazing Race, which featured four couples racing to the finish line instead of the usual three. (Something that’s becoming a trend, if these last two seasons are any indication.)

Season 26 of "The Amazing Race" wraps up on Friday (May 15) night with an episode that takes the four remaining teams from Peru to Dallas for that climactic rush to Phil Keoghan at the mat. Yes, for the second straight season, it's a Top 4 in the "Amazing Race" finale, as Mike & Rochelle were saved from elimination at the end of last week's episode, but they've been told that one team will be sent home during this closing Leg. This season's twist has been the introduction of a quintet of pairs featuring strangers on a hypothetical blind date around the world. Has that twist worked? Well, it depends on how you look at things. Of the four remaining teams, only Mike & Rochelle were dating previously and they've been quantifiably the weakest of the last quartet. They're going up against Laura & Tyler, Jelani & Jenny and Hayley & Blair, all "blind-dating" couples, though there have...

According to Gold Derby's official odds, it looks like Tyler and Laura will win this season of "The Amazing Race" on Friday. They are one of three Blind Date couples still in contention and lead with odds of 11/8. Their closest rivals, the battling Blair and Hayley, have odds of 21/10 to pull off an upset. At the back of the back with odds of 13/2 are both the newly matched Jelani and Jenny and the lone long-term couple still in contention, Rochelle and Mike. What do you think will happen as these final four race to the finish line one last time. This is your last chance to enter our predictions contest? Hey! Look at that! "The Amazing Race" is, indeed, capable of making at least minor corrections. Last season's penultimate episode was, if you'll recall, a bit of a logical mess. Brooke & Robbie, who I've mostly forgotten, finished first, but got nothing for their trouble, because it was a "Keep On Racing..." Leg. Amy & Maya finished last and not only were they not eliminated and not only did they not face a Speed-Bump in the next Leg because it was a "Keep On Racing..." Leg rather than a Non-Elimination Leg, but they went on to win, becoming one of the two or three least dominant "Amazing Race" winners ever. It was stupid. Because the last Leg always begins with travel back to the United States and is usually an Equalizer, Brooke & Robbie didn't win a prize as the winners of the Leg, didn't get a time advantage and basically did a Leg of activities for nothing,...

I've been reflecting on Friday (May 1) night's "The Amazing Race" for nearly 20 minutes now and I have to admit this: I have basically nothing to say. So... Kudos, "The Amazing Race," for cutting together an episode so full of redundant, deja vu moments that I have very little desire to rant or rave or analyze. Another episode built around awkwardly wedged in product placement? Sure, why not? Yeah, we've been steadily plugging FitBit all season long, but why not throw in literally the least visually stimulating challenge built around the little fitness bracelets? Yes, tonight's math equation challenge was dull, but it was still less cringeworthy than what "Amazing Race" did with Ford and Travelocity this season. Whatever grace the show once had with product plugs has vanished and now I just cringe whenever a brand name is mentioned. But that's not new. It's been happening all season long. Another...

I want Hayley from "The Amazing Race" to be my new Waze voice. Is that so much to ask? Fox keeps teasing me with Waze voices from their shows -- Terry Crews, Tom Mison, Will Forte -- and then pulling them for no good reason. Right now I'm using Vlade Divac and as funny as Vlade has been at times over the years, his directions aren't amusing me and he bumbles "left" and "right" in ways that leave me a bit perplexed, which would cause a real problem were it not for the reality that I rely on Waze to give me a few major points, but I often ignore the little things, like when Waze tries to get me to take left turns onto crowded intersections without lights. I want Hayley from "The Amazing Race" as my Waze voice so that she can keep telling me the correct way...

This season of "The Amazing Race" is just struggling with producing drama. Although yes, two teams have started Legs in first and ended them in last, the more frequent result this season has been teams starting Legs in last and stumbling along for an hour without ever really coming in contact with anybody else and then going home. It happened with Libby & Cj. It happened with Harley & Jonathan. And it happened again in Friday (April 17) night's double-episode that could just as easily have been titled "You Know The First Hour Is a Non-Elimination, But At Least The Scenery Is Beautiful." Indeed, Friday's Namibia episodes were probably "The Amazing Race" at its most beautiful. There were boundless deserts, bounding wildlife and some of the best photography the show has utilized. At no point did I ever feel like Friday's episodes were anything less than gorgeous to gaze upon and thus I...

I know that sometimes teams are going to get lost on "The Amazing Race" and that every once in a while, getting lost is going to get a team eliminated on "The Amazing Race." But if you're going to get lost on "The Amazing Race" and that's going to be your undoing... Try to make it dramatic. Ask 50 people for directions and get increasingly more flummoxed. Fight and throw your maps in the air in outrage. Bang your head against your car horn repeatedly. Go the wrong way and end up in an ocean or accidentally steer yourself into a foreign country, through a hostile border, forcing armed guards to shoot out your tires. Oh and don't get so horribly lost that you get eliminated from "The Amazing Race" when you're in one of the smallest countries in the world. Sigh. More on Friday's (April 10) "The Amazing Race" after the break.

It's always a bit surprising when "The Amazing Race" is making its first appearance in a particular country, but Friday (April 10) night's episode will be the initial visit to Monaco for Phil Keoghan and company. [Actually, I can't say with any certainty that this is Phil Keoghan's first visit to Monaco. I just know it's his first visit with "The Amazing Race."] Check above for a HitFix exclusive clip of the couples dangling high above Monaco in a task that features both ziplining -- It feels like we've done that at least once already this season -- but also precarious wire-balancing. Do not watch if you have vertigo! Check back later tonight for my full recap of Friday's episode, which is titled "Smells Like a Million Bucks." And this seems like a fair time to check in to see your thoughts on Season 26 of CBS' Emmy-winning favorite... For me, I'm appreciating the relative parity of the season. Jelani & Jenny may have won the first two Legs, but they've been middle-of-the-pack for the past few Legs. Mike & Rochelle...

Who do you think will be eliminated on this Friday's episode of "The Amazing Race"? Last week, many of our savvy users correctly pegged Bergen and Kurt as the most likely to be axed. And that came despite this blind date pair having started the leg in first place. -Break- This week, our odds favor that Rochelle and Mike will be the last to reach the finish line. Despite their first place finish in episode three, this dating couple has odds of 10/3 to be eliminated after being second last to the mat last week. "The Amazing Race" returned on Friday (April 3) night and while I didn't exactly forget that the Emmy-winning series was back, I realized almost immediately during the pre-credit recap that I barely remembered anything about where we'd left things several weeks back. Bergen & Kurt won the last Leg? How the heck did that happen? Was anybody especially good? Was anybody especially bad? I know CBS had to air the Ncaa Tournament, but "The Amazing Race" isn't a hit anymore and this season has been a wobbly, albeit sometimes amusing, experiment. And pulling a struggling show in a unsteady season is a pretty dismal way to maintain momentum. Fortunately, most of what I was and wasn't liking about the season came back pretty early in Friday's episode, which was funny and entertaining in moments, but also exposed the absolutely worst case scenario for this blind dating season. [Full recap after the break...] I suppose one might think...

I liked a lot of Friday (March 13) night's episode of "The Amazing Race," but maybe I didn't like it as an episode of "The Amazing Race," if you know what I mean. No? I really did find myself getting a kick out of all of the bickering couples, but I may just have been amused by how silly they made this season's twist/theme look. I enjoyed some of the things the pairs were getting to do, even though they didn't feel like "Amazing Race" kinds of things to do. And I found myself really rooting for the team that went home, even though I never felt for a second like they had any chance of cheating their fate again... More after the break... I guess I can accept that some warm-fuzzies are an acceptable way to compensate for yet another drama-free episode of "The Amazing Race." I wouldn't want to trade emotion and sentiment for tension and excitement very often, but at least Friday's (March 6) "Amazing Race" Leg got something out of what is normally a situation that leaves me frustrated, so... Let's skip to the recap after the break so I can get to spoiling... So Friday's "Amazing Race" episode was a Non-Elimination Leg and it always had the feel of a Non-Elimination Leg, because the process of escaping from Nagano in Japan to Phuket, Thailand proved absurdly difficult and "The Amazing Race" usually doesn't like to send teams home as a result of travel circumstances that are totally unavoidable. And this was a situation in where there were at least four flights departing Japan at wildly different times and even with an attempted equalizer in Phuket,...

Ooops. Somebody forgot to include the drama in Friday (February 27) night's episode of "The Amazing Race," which was edited with less of an exclamation point and more of an unconcerned shrug. Starting a whopping 29 minutes into the episode, teams started popping up at the Pit Stop and I expected Phil Keoghan to say something like, "Really? We're done?" Instead, Phil was asking people things like, "Is there any romantic connection do you think?" Ladies and gentlemen... Season 26 of "The Amazing Race." There were good moments in Friday's episode, titled "I Got The Smartest Dude," but they didn't add up to anything, because by the time the eliminated team reached the Pit Stop, they'd been in last for the entirely time and they were just smiling and laughing and happy and ready to go home. And if they don't care, why should we? Let's get down to recapping business after the break.

"The Amazing Race" giveth and "The Amazing Race" taketh away. Following a season that saw ratings drop on Fridays, "The Amazing Race" got a special Wednesday showcase after the "Survivor: Worlds Apart" premiere and with both long-running favorites instituting format twists this season, CBS was able to spare 90 minutes apiece for the two launches. Longtime readers know that I'm pretty insistent that you need to have at least a 90-minute premiere for "The Amazing Race," because the effort to establish 11 teams of 22 players while also giving the necessary exposure to navigating around international locations and for various challenges is almost impossible in only 60 minutes. I don't think "The Amazing Race" has ever had an entirely satisfying hour-long premiere. And the 90 minutes given to Wednesday's (February 25) "Amazing Race" premiere were enough to help me see some of the merit to the Blind Dating twist that gave us six teams of established couples,...

With 25 seasons and 15 Emmys under its belt, The Amazing Race is now letting love lead the way.
For its 26th season, the CBS reality competition has recruited 11 dating duos for its next race around the world.
The catch? While six of this year’s twosomes have been dating for quite some time, the remaining five teams have been paired up as “blind date” couples, meeting for the first time on the race and hoping that their instant chemistry (or lack thereof) can carry them to the finish line.
