Charlotte Svenson is a native of New Orleans and a New York City-based costume designer with a decade of professional experience in theater, film, and television. Her approach to costume design is characterized by high emotional intelligence, delving deeply into scripts to understand characters' mindsets and expressing those emotions through clothing. From concept to execution, she thrives in the collaborative process of developing characters' connections to their environments and telling often untold stories.
In 2015, Charlotte was honored with the New York Women in Film & Television and Variety's Designing Women Award for her work on "Orange is the New Black." In 2020, she won an Emmy as the assistant costume designer for "Russian Doll." Her most recent projects include HBO's "Pretty Little Liars: Summer School," Hulu's "Tell Me Lies," and NBC's "Ordinary Joe."
Charlotte is fortunate to have a talented crew network that has supported her in New York, Chicago, and Atlanta. As a proud member of the IATSE 829 union, Charlotte is dedicated to raising awareness about the powerful role of costume design in the film industry.
