After graduation from law school at Waseda University, Sayo Saruta went to Tanzania to engage in NPO activities for the native children. In 2002, She had become a lawyer, and then dealt with various law suites, such as international human rights issues.
She had studied abroad to Law school at Columbia University, and graduated with The Master of Laws (LL.M.) in 2008. Since 2009, she has been a registered lawyer of State of New York.
In 2012, she graduated from department of international relationships at American University with The Master of international politics and international conflicts.
Now she is a director of New Diplomacy Initiative, and she's active in Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch and many other NGO activities.
