Luke Hemmings Is a Fountain of Existentialism on His New Single — And He Doesn’t Want to Turn It Off
It’s not often that Luke Hemmings finds himself on his own. For the better part of the past 12 years, the 27-year-old singer and songwriter has shared the stage with his three bandmates in 5 Seconds of Summer. The Australian pop-rock band has built its career around being a relentless touring act, playing to thousands-deep audiences on nearly back-to-back runs in support of five studio albums. Four years ago, when that cycle was interrupted for the first time, Hemmings retreated into himself.

The best song Christian Karlsson has ever made could be sitting on a hard drive somewhere, unfinished and completely forgotten by the producer and DJ who performs as Galantis. It’s been four years since his last album, Church, and in that time he’s picked up and put down hundreds of raw demos that he has crafted on a near daily basis. “There’s so much music all the time. I mean, I write songs every day and so many people that are in my team write songs every day,...

Earlier this year, during each night on their tour, The 5 Seconds of Summer Show, 5Sos offered an earnest refrain to their audience. “Memories I hold to keep safe, and I live for that look on your face,” all four members sang into their mics during “Best Friends,” from their latest album 5SOS5. The tour — complete with elaborate skits, copious amounts of confetti, and fan-favorite deep cuts — was a celebration not only of their 10th anniversary as a band, but also of the fanbase they’ve cultivated during that time.

5 Seconds of Summer guitarist Michael Clifford and wife Crystal Leigh are expecting their first child. A rep for the couple first confirmed the news to People on June 12. "I'm filled with excitement and also with nerves," 27-year-old Clifford told the outlet. "I've been a dog dad for a long time, so I think I'm ready for a small human to take care of and communicate with conversationally after eight years of one-sided dog convos!"

5 Seconds of Summer is feeling more than five seconds of emotional damage on their new song “Blender” — but at least they’re processing it in a fun, upbeat way. On Wednesday, the group — comprising Luke Hemmings, Michael Clifford, Ashton Irwin, and Calum Hood — released their poppy new single.
“All the things you said in my head/Ricochetting off the bed/Nothing left, what a mess/Oh, my God, it never ends,” sings Hemmings in the chorus. “Now we’re stressed and depressed/And we’re going ’round again/In an еmotional blender.

Billie Eilish topped the Billboard 200 with her sophomore album “Happier Than Ever” in its first week with 238,000 album units. In its second week it dropped significantly to 85,000 units, but that was enough to keep it in first place, which makes it only the second album this year to spend its first two weeks in the top spot, following Morgan Wallen‘s “Dangerous.” Will Eilish go three for three on next week’s chart?
Our users already placed their bets for the Billboard tracking week currently underway, and most of them said Eilish would remain on top. But Olivia Rodrigo‘s “Sour” was number-two this week with 61,000 units after 12 weeks on the chart, so with that kind of staying power she certainly has the potential to climb back to number-one for its fourth nonconsecutive week. Following in the footsteps of fellow performers like Niall Horan and 5 Seconds of Summer's Luke Hemmings, Demi Lovato made her virtual debut on Jimmy Fallon's Tonight Show: At Home Edition on Tuesday. Besides a spot-on impression of Moira Rose, we were treated to one of the first "live" performances of her new song "I Love Me." Despite her casual setting, Lovato was still able to give us a moving performance with each and every riff she added.
The lyrics of "I Love Me" serve as a small reminder that you need to love and take care of yourself, which is incredibly relevant right now. The performance also gave us a glimpse of Lovato's inner nerd as well as a glimpse into her daily life (raise your hand if you also have a corner in your living space filled with laundry or random bags). If there's one thing we know for sure, it's that Australian band 5 Seconds of Summer is comprised of four seriously attractive guys with insane talent. Singer Luke Hemmings, for one, is totally, incredibly gorgeous - and when he sings, we swoon. After a two-year hiatus, 5 Seconds of Summer finally released new music last year, went on tour, then without even taking a stop to breathe, they dropped more new music this year and announced a coheadlining tour with The Chainsmokers. Whew. But we need to set the music aside for just a second and talk about Luke's face. Yes, we love the band's latest release, "Easier," but we especially love how hot Luke looks in the video - and everywhere else he pops up. Catch a glimpse of just how dreamy this 22-year-old Aussie is when you look through the gallery.
