The story follows a master spy known by his codename, Twilight, who acts to maintain peace between rival nations whose tensions recall the Cold War. To achieve his latest mission of getting close to a reclusive far-right leader through his sons, Twilight must pose a family man and enrol a child into the same private school known as the Eden Academy.
To accomplish this, Twilight poses as a psychiatrist named Loid Forger and presents the image of a happy family by adopting a young orphan girl named Anya, while also marrying City Hall employee Yor Briar.

“Spy x Family Code: White” is a fun, accessible jumping-on point for anyone unfamiliar with the “Spy x Family” anime, or the manga on which it’s based. However, in slowing down to let newcomers catch up, it tends to lack momentum. The plot isn’t strictly tied to the the comic or the show’s two seasons (it’s yet to be renewed for a third), but it picks up with the same basic premise: a found family with secret lives and abilities, which they keep guarded from one another, while a non-specific political conflict looms on the horizon.

The Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End anime just completed its first season, teasing a second season, although without a proper release date. At the same, the manga is going on a short break until April. Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End became probably the biggest hit of the Fall 2023 / Winter 2024 season, surpassing even major titles like Solo Leveling and Blue Exorcist. The fans simply loved all that Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End brought with it, and it certainly seemed like something new and refreshing in more ways than one.
We have already written about the prospects for a second season, as well as the upcoming exhibition dedicated to the series, and in this article, we’d like to report yet another piece of good news for fans of the series.
Namely, before the anime series premiered, the ongoing manga series, had sold roughly 10 million copies. A lot, but still a relatively small number when compared to some similar titles.

After the massive critical and commercial success of “A Silent Voice” (2016), it seemed like director Naoko Yamada could do no wrong and was poised for huge things. It may have been strange for some then that her next directorial project would be tied to the “Sound! Euphonium” anime series, which Yamada had previously worked on as series unit director under Tatsuya Ishihara. It could almost be seen as a regression, as Yamada's first two features, “K-on! The Movie” (2011) and “Tamako Love Story” (2014), were also based on pre-existing anime series. Yet whether a fan of “Sound! Euphonium” or not, “Liz and the Blue Bird” (2018) is a constant delight and could well be Yamada's masterpiece.
