Randy Jernigan
Randy Edward Jernigan was born September 7, 1961 to Curtis Jernigan and
Barbara Lowrey. His father from an English Southern Baptist background,
born and raised in Northwest Florida, and his mother, also a
southerner, born to a strict Irish Pentecostal Christian family. Randy
began his writing career for newspapers and magazines, mostly
freelancing for celebrity and entertainment news pages. Randy's first
book was published in April 2001. "This Thing Called Love" was a
collection of short fiction stories published by Barnes and Noble's
Writer's Club Press. Randy's first screenplay was an adaptation of the
story "Dinner for Two" from that book. During the late 1990's Randy
began writing news features for several television news programs such
as Hard Copy, American Journal, 20/20 and 60 Minutes. Randy's first
acting job came while attending Brigham Young University in Utah. The
1990 Dino De Laurentis film "Desperate Hours" directed by Michael
Cimino. From there Randy played several supporting roles in such
television films as "The Boys of Twilight" and "Po Boys." In 1995 Four
Point Entertainment and the USA Network produced and broadcast "Case
Closed" starring Stacy Keech. A television docudrama about the murder
of Randy's aunt, in Northwest Florida. Today Randy continues to
freelance for several celebrity magazine, has written two more
screenplays recently optioned by a major cable network and is
publishing a new book series dealing with celebrities that make a
positive difference in their communities featuring Daniel Radcliffe and
Taylor Swift.
